1. OBJECTIVE

1) To do a research and monitor a marine fisheries resource at sea bottom under support SEAFDEC/UNEP/GEF Fisheries Refugia Project in Cambodia.

2. INVOLVED PERSON

2) There are seven people from FiA, FiAC in Kampot, volunteers from Nataya Resort, and Wildlife Earth Allie attending to do a research and monitor marine fisheries resource at sea bottom from Chhorng Horn CFi to Nataya Resort (see annex 1).

3. ACTIVITIES

3) Teamwork led by Ms. Ly Sokta and Miss Leng Phalla went down to do a research and monitor marine fisheries resource at sea bottom from Chhorng Horn CFi to Nataya Resort starting on 21 to 23 March 2019 (see Annex 2).

• On 21 March 2019, teamwork wend down to do a research in Snarv channel and found coral reef and released two marine turtles into sea water, participating from FiAC officer, Navy, CFi, Nataya’s volunteer, and WEA;

• On 22 March 2019, teamwork went down to collect UTM Point at fisheries refugia zone of 300ha with

o X=388527, Y=1168348 o X=387805, Y=1168735

• On 23 March 2109, teamwork went down to collect UTM Point at Thmor Bey Dom with o X=386091, Y=1169127

4. RESULTS

4) The results of field trip having the period of 3days are:

• Identify fisheries refugia zone of 300ha that is rich of fish species and sea grass

• Find a lot of coral reef species such hard and soft coral reef with the size of small and big.
