Unit duties:

• Establishing the rectorate's vision, mission and strategic objectives (the strategic plan) and updating them on an ongoing basis

• Development of internal quality systems, the unit’s structure and regulations, the organization of work in the unit, and through the formation of the necessary committees and specifying their tasks, the unit’s equipment, archiving and documentation systems, plans, activities and communication mechanisms with colleges / deanships / departments and service beneficiaries, follow-up systems, quality reports/ improvement plans. "

• Preparing databases for the various works of the rectorate.

• Application of quality standards and academic accreditation at the rectorate level and its associated bodies, and the participation of all sectors of the university in this.

• Preparing the annual report of the rectorate in partnership with all associated authorities.

• Supervising the rectorate’s website and working to update it on an ongoing basis.

Achievements of the Quality Assurance Unit

1- Preparing a plan for measuring learning outcomes at the course level.

2- Preparing the rectorate's annual report for the academic year 1441 AH.

3- Following up on the implementation of institutional accreditation requirements for rectorates associated with the rectorate.

4- Following up the implementation of the rectorate's strategic plan projects.

5- Preparing periodic and annual reports of the Rectorate's strategic plan projects.

Controlling nuclear, radiological and chemical uses Unit Introduction:

The “Control of Nuclear, Radiological and Chemical Uses Unit” instead of the Chemical and Radioactive Materials Unit, to be the body responsible for implementing the operational program in the planning and construction stages at the university and to verify that the structures and devices conform to the requirements of radiation protection before the operational phase and to ensure the availability of appropriate preventive precautions and to work with the instructions and control systems in force and approved by the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy and the General Presidency of Meteorology and Environmental Protection in everything related to safety matters for radiation protection and the safe use of chemicals in facilities that require some radiological and chemical practices such as handling and storing chemical and radioactive materials, use of devices that emit ionizing radiation, and the application of the radiation protection program. The program includes working with the basic requirements and principles and preventing external dangers of radiation by classifying the areas of radiation work into areas of control and areas of supervision, measuring and controlling the levels of radiation in work environments and monitoring personal doses for workers, dealers and users, and adhering to the limits D) The applicable national and international principles and work with the principle of ALARA and the application of the program for the disposal of hazardous radioactive and chemical wastes resulting from some university facilities carrying out their practices.

1- Classification of workplaces and identification of control areas and areas under supervision for places of circulation of radioactive sources and devices emitting ionizing radiation.

2- Applying the applicable national limits and reference levels and not exceed them.

3- Carrying out radiological and environmental surveys and measurements of the control areas, the areas under supervision, and the work environment.

Supervising equipping facilities that handle radioactive sources and devices that emit ionizing radiation, in accordance with the basic requirements and principles of radiation protection, and providing radiation protection means for observers.

4- Supervising the application of instructions and standards inside establishments when dealing with radioactive sources and using the devices that are issued to them.

5- Inventorying all the radioactive sources and the devices exported to them in the university's facilities.

6- Personal dosimetry for professional observers.

7- Supervising the transfer of radioactive sources in the university facilities.

8- Disposal of radioactive waste according to applicable supervisory regulations and instructions.

9- Providing the university's professional workers with adequate information about the radiation risks that they may be exposed to during the handling and handling operations.

10- Participation in developing radiation emergency plans and environmental disasters in Al-Jauf region.

11- Organizing and activating seminars and lectures in the field of radiation protection and environmental awareness.
