Emirates Consumer Price Index Goes down by 0.10% in April 2011

The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) reached 115.38 in April 2011, and with comparison with the base year (2007 =100); It decreased by 0.10% compared to its value at the end of March 2011, and increased by 1.13% compared to its value at the end of April 2010.

The findings of the CPI for April 2011 at the national level indicate decreases in the following major expenditure groups:

Textiles, Clothing and Footwear - 1.12 %

-

Housing - 0.71 %

-

Health Care - 0.54 %

-

Communications - 0.01 %

At the same time, there were increases in other major expenditure groups:

Food and Soft Drinks + 1.25 %

Furniture and Other Items + 0.56 %

-

Miscellaneous Goods and Services + 0.33 %

Transportation + 0.29 %

-

Restaurants & Hotels + 0.03 %
