EFFECTS OF PADDY STRAW COMPOST SOURCES ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF PADDY STTiAW MUSHROOM {Volvariella voh^cea) IN OUTDOOR CONDITION

Tlie cultivated demand and uUlizaUon of paddy straw mushroom (PSM) are increasing in the Mekong Delta due to salvaging agricultural waste and producing the PSM production with nch in protein food. ObjecUve of this study was to investigate the proper paddy straw compost (FSC) from local area for obtaining opUmal growth and yield of PSM. A completely randomized experiment was earned out on PSC bed incubating spawn in outdoor condition with 4 treatments and 6 replications, each replicaUon as a row of 1 m. The treatments included (0 PSC originaUng from vanety Dai Thom S, with improvement of reducing rice grain weight, pesUlent insect, N fertilizer, increasing of yield, nce quality and economic efficiency, (ii) PSC originating from vaiiety Dai Tliom 8, with U"aditional culUvaUon as farmers' method, (m) PSC onginaUng from variety Jasmine 85 with improvement of reducing nce grain weight, pesUlent insect, N fertilizer, increasing of yield, rice quality and economic efflciency. (iv) PSC onginaUng from variety Jasmine 85, with UadiUonal cultivaUon as fai-mers' method. The results showed that the occurrence of mushroom fruiting bodies (MFB) based on PSC onginaUng from varietj' Jasmine 85 is lower than that of from vanety Dai Thom 8. Cullivation of PSM from variety Dai Tliom 8 and Jasmine 85 equally produced in length of MFB, width of MFB and the first 30 MFB. The PSC originadng from the improvement uf reducing seed weight, pestilent insect, N fertilizer, increasing of yield, rice quality and economic efflciency produced higher length of MFB, width of MFB, the flrst 30 MFB and biological efficiencj' compared to tradiUonal cultivaUon as farmers' method. Nitrogen content in MFB was detemiined approximately 4.66 - 5 27%
