SUMMARY
Enlomopathogenic fiingi often affect certain types of tissue, such as the 1^1 tissue and other tissues which are dissolved by enzymes (chitinases, proteases, lipases) from ftingi. In particular, the stronger chitinase activity, the faster the insect is killed Enlomopathogenic fiingus Penicillium sp. M4 isolated from cadaver's bugs in sugarcane fields outside Hanoi was capable of bio- synthesizing chitinase. The proper culture conditions for the bio-synthesis of chitinase were optimized by using solid fermentation.
Carbon source of com starch with 17 mm in thickness, moisture content of 60%, pH 6, an addition of chilin (1%, w/w) as inducer and 0.9% (w/w) urea as inorganic nitrogen source, 5 days of fermention time and at 30"C of incubation temperature were optimized for the bio-synthesis of chitinase The highest chitinase activity produced from optimized culture was (8.02 ± 0.02) U/ml. The result K applicable to apply in real conditions, since materials for the culture medium are very cheap and available, the culture conditions Kf suitable to the climate in Vietnam.
