Five bacterium strains, including E.coli, V. parahaemolyticus, V. ow Subtilisand S. aureus, were used for testing antibacterial activities ofthe extracts. Antibacterial activities of stems and roots were observed S baclenal suainf^ parahaemolyticus DPPH free radical scavenging activities on crude methanol extracts were evaluated' maximum radical scavenging activity was observed for Ihe extract from roots (IC50 value, 52.5 jig/ml) and the minimum Bi scavanging acuvity was shown by the extract from flower (IC50 value, 537.5 (ig/ml). All parts ofthe plants showed inhibition ii growth of seedling roots, ranging from 65% to72%, depending on parts of Ihe plants.
