THE PROBLEM
SOLVING
STRATEGIES
IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM
Find the issue that gives you difficulties and select the main problem. The best way to do this is to use STAR method where you are going think, act, review and
stop. You may find out that your marks do not improve.
ExPLORE INFORMaTION aND cREaTE IDEas
Now that you identified the problem, analyse it to see the real cause of the problem. Of course, when you have
information about the problem, come up with ideas to get rid of it. That is, think of different ways to study.
GENERaTE THE
POTENTIaL IDEas
On the ideas you created, take a piece of paper
and brainstorm the ideas looking for ideas that are possible to be done. Write different study
approaches, like studying while you listening to music or in a silent place.
sELEcT THE BEsT I DEa
Of all the ideas you brainstormed, one of them can work best for you. Make sure, that idea
affect other people. Like if you choose to play music while studying, consider the volume, as it could disturb other people.
BuILD aND TEsT THE IDEa
The solution you have chosen needs to be done physical.
i.e. You can assume you are going to right a test on a particular chapter. Try to read the chapter and once you are done, test yourself.
EvaLuaTE THE REsuLTs
The final is study the results. As you mark your test, you can compare your script with the previous ones. Then you will see if your strategy works, if its not, try another one.
