BRITS POS – BRITS - The National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (Natjoints) is satisfied with the manner in which the integrated law enforcement deployments have exercised their authority in ensuring law and order in the country thus far.
Through its respective Provjoints across the country, the Natjoints working closely with all the stakeholders in the security Cluster, has ensured maximum mobilisation of resources to heighten police visibility with a view of preventing acts of lawlessness and criminality.
The Natjoints and all the other security stakeholder can hold their heads high that all the measures that were in place enabled businesses and services to operate with minimum incidents of criminality reported throughout the country.
“Through intelligence driven operations, the swift response by members of the South African Police Service and other law enforcement agencies to pockets of opportunistic criminality is commended,” says Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, Natjoints spokesperson. “The secondary support role of the South African National Defence Force in assisting the work of the police by protecting critical infrastructure such as ports of entry, toll roads, and harbours has also yielded positive results. The role of private security in the sharing of resources and as a force multiplier on the ground also played a major role in ensuring that law enforcement visibility is heightened.
Through the SAPS E2 (eyes and ears) project, the security industry made resources and tools of trade available to law enforcement.
Members of the Community Police Forums (CPF), neighbourhood watches and other community structures are also commended for their supportive role. The transport sector, especially the South African National Taxi
Council (SANTACO) and National Taxi Alliance (NTI) are commended.”
The Natjoints takes this opportunity to appreciate the protest that proceeded in a peaceful and orderly manner in Pretoria. In the rest of the country, those who were found to be contravening the law were dealt with accordingly, within the ambit of the law.
The Natjoints has at 22:00 on, 20 March 2023, arrested more than 550 protestors for amongst others public violence, intimidation, damage to critical infrastructure, theft and attempted looting.
In those arrested, Gauteng recorded the highest number of arrests with 149, the Northern Cape recorded the second highest number with 95 arrests, the Eastern Cape also saw 80 protestors arrested, followed by Free State with 64 arrests.
The number of tyres that were confiscated throughout the country remains at 24 300. These were tyres that were strategically placed for acts of criminality.
In conclusion, the Natjoints wishes to thank various stakeholders from members of the public and the business fraternity for working together with law enforcement to uphold and enforce the law.
Law enforcement deployments will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety and security of everyone in the country.

AfriForum Brits Buurtwag se nasionale- aksie is deur Afriforum hoofkantoor gelei.
“Ons was 1 van die 160 AfriForum buurtwagte regoor die land wat vanaf 10 Maart 2023 reeds begin het met die voorbereidings vir 20 Maart 2023 se protesaksies,” vertel Stephan Roos, takvoorsitter van AfriForum Brits Buurtwag.
“Ontplooiing het Sondagmiddag in samewerking met verskeie afdelings in die SAPD uit die Noordwes-provinsie en die SAPD Brits, sekuriteitsmaatskappye, GPF Brits en Sektor 4 GPF Bokfontein nedersetting begin.”
Verder vertel Roos dat toegangsroetes na Brits asook die N4 gemonitor is deur observasieposte en gereelde patrollies.
“Goeie beplanning en reaksie het verhoed dat die betogers paaie versper, of om nog betogers te mobiliseer en die plaaslike bevolking te intimideer.”
Stukkende glasbottels, betonblokke, klippe, motorbande asook brandende bande, takke en afgesaagde bome is deur georganiseerde optredes van alle instansies verwyder.
Bemanning van observasieposte, gemeenskapspatrollies was tot laat Maandagaand steeds op bystand en het voortgegaan om die situasie te moniteer, waarop dit duidelik geraak het dat Britsdistrik na normaal kon terugkeer.
“Dit is duidelik dat gemeenskappe regoor die land ‘n verskil wil maak en bydra tot gemeenskaplike veiligheid,” sê Roos.
Hy vertel dat GPF Sektor 4 Bokfontein onlangs gestig is en dat dié lede dadelik ingespring het om versperrings te verwyder en beheer geneem oor die ontwrigting wat die destabileerders wou veroorsaak en hulle verjaag en die area beveilig het.
“Wat ‘n verskil bystand aan so ‘n klein gemeenskap beteken, is dat hul met selfvertroue kon optree teen die destabiliseerder, wie se fluitjies stil geword het in die nag.
“Selfdoen is beter as niks doen nie en alle eer aan ons Hemelse Vader wat ons gelei het tydens die aksie,” sluit Roos af en dankie aan die sigbare Reaksiespanne van Afriforum Brits Buurtwag, Afriforum Brits Protospan, Brits SAPD, PPS Sekuriteit, Protego Security Group, Monitor Net, Secure Guarding, Secra Fencing & Security, GPF Brits, GPF Sektor 4 Bokfontein en Bapong Verkeersdepartement.

BRITS POS – BRITS - The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation in Mahikeng is seeking the assistance of the community to provide information on the whereabouts and/or details of the man in picture.
The man is a person of interest in a reported case where a 54-year-old female victim had allegedly been scammed of over R2 million of her pension pay- outs between May and August 2022, by someone she met through Badoo online dating site.

BRITS POS – BRITS – Life imprisonment was handed down to the 26-year-old Itumeleng Moyo by the Brits Regional Court on Wednesday, 15 March 2023.
The convict was sentenced in connection with the rape of a 15-year-old girl. Evidence was led in court that the girl was with her friends at Mountain View, Oukasie on Saturday, 31 December 2016, at approximately 21:30, when Moyo, aged 20 at the time of the incident, attacked them. He then took the victim forcefully and threatened her with a knife. He took her to a shack and raped her. The convict, who was known to the victim was arrested on Monday, 22 January 2018. He was positively linked by DNA and found guilty on Thursday, 26 January 2023.

RAPIST GETS LIFE IMPRISONMENT Sergeant Ndubane from Brits FCS lauded
BRITS POS – BRITS - Two male workers went to fetch a generator from the area where they were pumping water on Tuesday, 14 March, around 16:35 at the Blaauwbank farm when suddenly three men, of which one was armed, approached and held them at gunpoint and instructed them to lay down.
They were told to get onto their pickup truck and were taken to the house where they were shoved into the toilet and robbed of their cellphones. The suspects then raided the house and took six solar panels, a generator, two inverters, a speaker and cash and the robbers left the scene in the white Chev pickup to the
value of R150 000. Nobody was injured. A house robbery case was opened at Brits police station.
According to Col Adéle Myburgh, spokesperson SAPS North West, no arrest has yet been made and anyone with information that could assist the police can phone Sgt G Matone the Investigating Officer at Brits police station on 078 338 2542.

Mob justice leaves two murdered
BRITS POS – MOOINOOI - Mooinooi police station’s Community Complaint Centre (CSC) on Friday, 17 March around 06:40 received notice of assault/alleged mob justice at the football field at Malaeneng Section, Mamba.
On arrival they found two males laying on the ground and one had stopped breathing.
An ambulance service was contacted and upon arrival EMS personnel confirmed that the one victim had passed on and the other victim was transported to a hospital in Brits for treatment. Police at Mooinooi were later informed that the victim that was taken to
Brits Hospital had passed on around 14:00.
Two counts of murder were opened at Mooinooi police station.
“No arrest has yet been made,” says Col Adéle Myburgh, SAPS North West spokesperson. Anyone with information can call the Investigating Officer, Sgt Motlhabane at Mooinooi police station on 014 574 6907.
Police thwart robbers’ plans
BRITS POS – BETHANIE - Two women were on foot from Modikwe section to Barseba Section, when a white Toyota Quantum stopped next to them and two armed men alighted from the vehicle, held them at gunpoint and robbed them of R200 cash, a bank card and two cellphones and drove off.
At that moment, police members of Bethanie police station, were doing their patrols along the same road and the victims pointed at the vehicle speeding from the scene. The SAPS crew followed the Quantum and requested backup from SAPS Brits and at Bapong, the Toyota Quantum was forced off the road and two suspects fled the scene and the driver was arrested. When searching the vehicle, two firearms were recovered, two cellphones, R200 cash and Capitec bank card. The victims identified the cellphones, cash and bank card as their robbed properties. A case of Possession of Unlicenced firearms that was opened at the Mooinooi police station previously, will be
linked with the case opened at Bethanie police station of robbery with a firearm. The other suspects have not been arrested, but the
police’s investigation into the case is ongoing. “The 29-year-old suspect appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 22 March 2023,” says Col Adéle Myburgh, spokesperson for SAPS North West, “and anyone that could assist the police in their investigation, can contact Sgt Majola, the Investigating Officer at SAPS Bethanie on 012 260 2981”.

Die departement van water en sanitasie in Hartbeespoort het die nuuste statistieke oor die watervlak van damme in die omgewing deurgegee en daar was Maandag, 20 Maart vyf damme vol.

We often hear how bad state hospitals are.
How dirty and neglected they are. How poor the service is and how bad patients are treated.
Well let me tell you what I have experienced at Brits District Hospital.
My wife, Johanna Magdalena Horn (Janse Van Noordwyk) was admitted on Tuesday, 17 January 2023 with severe Dementia.
She was hospitalised until she passed away on Friday, 3 March.
When I took her to Emergencies, she was admitted.
I felt sorry for the staff as they were
running from one patient to the next, totally
understaffed and with limited space.They did their work with professionalism.
My wife was then transferred to Medical Female Ward A1.
The hospital is CLEAN and tidy and I
wish to thank all staff members, from thecleaning ladies, all the nurses for their care and professionalism.
The senior medical staff and doctors - thank
you for doing the work you do that sometimes goes unnoticed.
The doctors who treated my wife are young, but professional.
To sum it up, it was a wonderful experience.
Thank you, Brits District Hospital.

BRITS POS – BAKWENA – The male driver of a Ford Ranger and two female passengers were driving along the N4 Bakwena highway on Sunday, 19 March around 00:29 from Rustenburg to Pretoria, and shortly after exiting the Brits Plaza tollgate the driver saw stones on the road and tried to swerve.
The rear tyre allegedly got a puncture and he then stopped to change it.
After stopping, the occupants were accosted by three males who instructed them to lie down. During the squabble with the suspects, one of the female occupants was allegedly shot in the stomach.
The suspects then searched the vehicle, took the victims cellphones, clothes and
shoes and the vehicle jack and fled on foot.Police confirmed that cases of armed robbery and attempted murder were opened at
Mmakau police station.
