DIRECTIONS
The following directions have been given by the President of the Constitutional Court.
1. The application for leave to appeal is granted.
2. The appeal is set down for hearing on 2 September 1997.
3. The appeal record is to consist of a) The judgment of the Court a quo
b) The record in the proceedings before Ludorf J in the Court a quo.
4. Clear photocopies may be used in compiling the record which shall be bound in volumes consisting of not more than 100 (One hundred) pages.
5. The appeal record is to be lodged with the Registrar of the Constitutional Court by not later than 17 July 1997.
6. Written arguments of the parties shall be lodged with the Registrar of the Constitutional Court as follows:
a) the appellant, by 17 July 1997.
b) the respondent by 7 August 1997.
7. If either party considers that these directions should be amended or supplemented in any respect, written notice to that effect should be lodged with the Registrar of the Constitutional Court and served on the other party by not later than 28 May 1997. The directions will be reconsidered and may be amended in the light of any such representations.
