The Ebenhaeser community's claim was lodged before the 1998 cut-off date at the Regional Community Land Claims Offices: Western Cape. It was established that the claim complies with the provisions of the said law and is consequently favorable. Beneficiaries residing outside Ebenhaeser are descendants of 153 originally dispossessed households; who has no living families in Ebenhaeser. To appoint a service provider to perform the verification of the descendants of the original expropriated individuals who were expropriated in Ebenhaeser in 1925 and some of whose descendants now reside outside of Ebenhaeser. These will be used to monitor the progress of the project, as well as to show expenditure during the course of the project.
