Sale of Werk.

Interview with

Mrs. P. M. Clouts.

The C.T. Bnoth Zoin Association have been busy for some time past working hard in preparation for the monster sale of work whneby they hope to raise a large sum of money to liquidate the debt on the Zionist Hall.

I

met the President, Mrs. P.

M.

Clouts, that most indefatigable worker. the other afternoon and over tea she told me about the activities that were afoot.

Mrs. Clouts was very enthusiastic about the work and said that she and Mrs. 1\1.

Kentridge had a large band of helpers, but she admitted that these days it was rather difficult to collect money.

She is, of course, anxious that the forthcoming ~ale of "ork at the Zionist Hall on May 5th, vvhich the C.T. Bnoth Zion are holding, should be a great success. An original

~cheme of decoration which is sure to be much admired has been thought Mrs. P. M. CLOUTS. out. Details of th<' scheme I dare not divulge>

now as it is hrin~ kept as a surprise, hut I feel ure that '"hen it i seen, you will l'Pali 1• tlu in•Tt>nuit and clcvcrnc. of tlw whole arrangement.

This " sale of work " is something of a misnomer for it will be more like a depart·

mental store than a ordinary bazaar. Among the many goods which will be offered to the public will be such things as furniture.

sweets, ladies' goods, books and stationery, a bookstall containing the latest in novel and interesting literature. His or Her Majesty the Baby is to be fully provided for although as at the cinemas " infants in arms " will not he admitted. Many of those little things which every young mother is looking for will ] e provided. even down to rattles.

The little lane between the Standard Ban 1-.

and the Post Office is for the time being going to be transferred to the Zionist Hall for we are promised the most wonderful spectacle in colours due to the fact that the choicest of blooms and all the pretty flowers which can at this season of the year be ob- tained, will he on sale.

The fancy stall will be perhaps the most admired of all as it will contain dainty lingerie, beautiful novelties, cushions and lampshades-everything to make a woman happy and her home beautiful.

Material as well as mental food will be there. Refreshments of all kinds will he supplied.

All goods supplied, Mrs. Clouts assures the public, are to be of the highest class, per- haps better than can be obtained elsewhere.

The slogan for this sale of work is

"Value for Money" and you will get value for your money. You are promised that there will be no raffles and as they are making a speciality of home-made articles both edible and decorative as well as useful

281

and fancy, you can be sure that your money will be well spent.

Re

sure to come to the Zionist Hall on May 5th.

The following is the list of those respon- sible for the various stalls:-
