·anager for the Union Vlhaling Company Limited of Thlrban, Natal, to write to you to enquire whether the Imperial Government Vlould be prepared to grant to him, his agents or licensed assigns:-

1. A concession for sealinc. on tho Crosaeth I slanda 3.nd Prince Edward Island, for a period of. (5) years or more, the said conces3ion to include the right to lnnd on the Islands and bring the catches

away. Our client would bo prepared to pay a per9entage of the amount realised from

sealing

such _,.. operations in return for s ¹ch con- cession; and

2. A site for the erection of a Whaling Station at alfish Bay, West Coast of Africa; the site to be about ten acres in extent, and.

if possible, near fresh Tiater.

Vle shall be glad if you rlill be good enough to let us Y.now if the Government r.ould be prepared to accede to our Client's request, and, if so, upon wl'lat terms a.nd conditions.
