The owner must cause the holes to be closed to the satisfaction of the inspector. The owner must comply in all respects with a requirement under this section of the Chief Inspector.
PART IX-GENERAL
An applicant for an engineering certificate-. a) Shall be the holder of a second-class engineer's certificate for at least twelve months and since the award of that certificate-. i) has been in charge of machinery (including boilers), for taking charge of which the required authority is a second class engineer's certificate, for at least one thousand hours within a period of eighteen months; or. ii) assisted the engineer in charge of machinery (including boilers) to take charge of which the required authority is an engineer's or a first class engine driver's certificate for at least one thousand hours within a period. An applicant for a first class engine driver's certificate--. a) Must be the holder of a second class engine driver's certificate for a period of at least twelve months, and since the grant of such latter certificate-. i) Shall have been in charge of a steam engine or steam engines or other engine or engines, the required authority to take charge of which is a second class engine driver's certificate, for at least one thousand hours within a period of eighteen months:. An applicant for a third class boiler attendant's certificate-. a) Must have had experience of working, under the supervision of a holder of an engine driver's certificate or of a boiler operator's certificate of any class or of a person approved by the Chief Inspector, with boilers, for taking charge of which the required authorization is a third class boiler attendant's certificate, for at least two hundred and fifty hours within a period of three months; and.
An applicant for an installation operator certificate. a) Will have assisted the qualified person responsible for the installation, for the taking over of which the required authority is a certificate of operator of the installation, for at least one hundred hours; and (b) Must have passed oral and practical examinations as the. A second class engineer or second class machinist certificate authorizes its holder to drive and be in charge of. i). A Crane Operator First Class Certificate authorizes the holder to take charge of any machine-operated crane as defined in this Act, except that to operate steam-powered cranes he must also hold a Steam Operator Certificate of the required class. issued under this law. 11) Second class crane operator certificate.
An internal combustion engine certificate authorizes the holder to take over the operation of any internal combustion engine. An air conditioner operator certificate authorizes the holder to take over the operation of any air conditioner. Subject to subsection (4) of that rule, a boiler keeper's certificate of the first class authorizes its holder to be in charge of any boiler or boilers and their or their supply pumps to which and in relation to which section 15 of this Act applies.
MACHINERY INSPECTION AND SAFETY AAGULATIONS 1980
PART 1-. PRELIMINARY
Provided that no such form shall be deemed invalid if it has the effect of the respective correct form in said Schedule with such modifications as the circumstances may require. 34;"Australian Standard" means a standard rule, code or specification of the Standards Association of Australia;. For the purposes of these Regulations, any standard rule, code or specification adopted shall be read and construed as forming part of these Regulations subject to any amendment, that may be expressed in the regulation adopting suoh rule, code or specification, as the case may be.
7 73 (b) require a machine to be submitted for approval to a person other than a person specifically authorized by this Act to give that approval;
PART II-ADMINISTRATION
At each examination under this regulation, sixty-five percent (65%) or simply of the total marks must be a satisfactory passing examination.
PART III-MEASURES FOR SECURING SAFETY IN THE OPERATION OF MACHINERY
That part of any machine which is concealed by a guard and the interior of any guard which will be exposed when the guard is removed shall be painted yellow in accordance with Australian Standard Industrial Safety Color Code 1318-1972. This sub-regulation comes into force on January 1, 1978;. ii) The owner of power transmission equipment attached to a tractor for driving other machinery and the owner of every joint by which the equipment is connected to the tractor or other machinery shall provide and install guards so that-. a) a person working on or near a tractor or other machine and 1:11S clothing are protected from contact with moving parts of the power transmission. 3) (a) Whenever any person is likely to be injured in the operation of machinery while such machinery is being inspected, inspected, lubricated, maintained or repaired, the owner of the machinery shall lock the controls of the machinery in the "OFF" position and, when such work performed in the immediate vicinity of any bare electrical conductor, the owner of the machine must disconnect the current on such conductor by locking the disconnect switch in the "OFF" position. or, where this is not practicable, the owner installs an effective insulating shield around such conductor. the owner of the machine shall cause a competent person or persons to be placed at such controls or switch to prevent the controls or switch from being unlocked while any person is likely to be injured in the operation of the machine.
3 860 kilograms, the weight of the tractor being considered as the lowest weight at which the tractor in any fan would normally be available for retail sale, when new and without water, fuel and lubricating oil; Any notice to screen or otherwise adequately guard machinery in accordance with section 22 of this Act shall be given in Form 2 of the Second Schedule to these Regulations. Any notice under section 24 of this Act shall be given in Form 2A of the Second Schedule to these Regulations.
Any order made under section 25 of this Act shall be made in Form 3A of the Second Schedule to these Regulations.
PART IV-INSPECTION OF MACHINERY
Chief Inspector under Section J 4 of this Act of the owner of machinery shall be in Form 1 of the Second Schedule to these Rules. Every notice given under section 39 of this Act shall be in Form 3B of the Second Schedule to these Regulations. A person shall not construct, erect or alter a crane or hoist, nor permit or permit a crane or hoist to be constructed, erected or altered, without first obtaining written approval of the crane or hoist's construction from the Chief Inspector.
In such written approval the Chief Inspector must specify the safe working load of the crane or. The narrow end of the wedge must not extend beyond the rope end of the socket. Such items must be contained within the container so that their movement or displacement cannot take place during the work of the crane;. ii).
6) Before construction of any boiler or unfired pressure vessel begins, the manufacturer of such boiler or unfired pressure vessel shall submit to the Chief Inspector test certificates identifying the materials to be used.
PART V-DUTIES AND LIABILITIES OF OWNERS
PART VII-CERTIFICATES OF COMPETENCY
12A, subsection 1, in the 2nd annex to this Act, pass a test satisfactorily to show that he possesses-. A candidate for examination for a boiler certificate of the second class shall, after satisfying the Board that he has the qualifications prescribed in regulation 12A, subsection 2, in the Second Schedule to this Act, pass an examination satisfactorily to show that he possesses-. a) knowledge of arithmetic and ability to make simple calculations relating to boilers. A candidate for examination for a first-class crane driver's license shall, after satisfying the Board that he possesses the qualifications prescribed in regulation 13 of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass an examination to show that he possesses— . a) knowledge of the construction of all types of cranes.
A candidate for examination for a Second Class Crane Driver's Certificate must, once he has satisfied the Board that he has the qualifications prescribed by Rule 14 of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass an examination to show that he has over-. a) knowledge of the construction and operation of all types of overhead cranes;. A 'candidate for examination for a Refrigeration Engine Driver's Certificate must, after satisfying the Board that he has the qualifications prescribed by Rule 16 of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass an examination to show that he has over-. Degree Motor Mechanic Certificate shall, as soon as the Board is satisfied that he possesses the qualifications as prescribed by Rule 17 of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass an examination to show that he has over-. a) a knowledge of the principles of the operation of internal combustion engines;.
Grade Motor Mechanic's Certificate shall, after satisfying the Board that he has the qualifications prescribed in regulation 17(1) 3, in the 2nd annex to this Act, pass a test satisfactorily to show that he possesses-. a) knowledge of the principles of internal combustion engines.
PART VIII-OFFENCES AND PROCEEDINGS
A medical certificate required for the purposes of this Act is set out in Form 9 of the Second Schedule to these Regulations. For the overview of the design of any boiler that- Does not exceed 20 square meters of heating surface. For mapping the design of any crane or hoist (including mobile crane) that has a lifting capacity which -.
To examine the design of any lifting beam or frame weighing - Not more than 10 tons. C For the initial inspection of the Class 0 machines listed below, including inspection during construction, installation and testing. For the inspection of any of the above-mentioned machine classes after major repairs, modifications or installation, the costs stated in and (4) may be charged.
For the inspection of a report (or copy) prepared by an inspector in accordance with Article 10 (1) of the law.
