THE ALIENS ACT OF 1965, No. 19

An Act to Empower Aliens to Take and Deal with Property and Interest therein and to Revise the Statute Law of Queensland so far as it relates to Aliens
[Assented to 27 April, 1965]
BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
1. Short title. This Act nlay be cited asThe Aliens Act of 1965.
2. Aliens may hold and deal with property and interests therein. (I) Notwithstanding any provision of any Act or law an alien shall and may take, acquire, hold, and dispose of any property in all respects as ifhe were an Australian citizen; and atitle to property may be derived through, from, or in succession to an alien, in the same manner in all respects as through, from, or in succession to an Australian citizen.
(2) In this section, " property" means- (a) any property; and
(b) any estate or interest in any property, real or personal, movable or imlnovable.
(3) This section shall not entitle an alien to any right or privilege as an Australian citizen, except such rights and privileges in respect of property as are by this section expressly given to him.
3. Repeals. The Acts set forth in the First Schedule are repealed.
4. Amendments. The Acts set forth in the Second Schedule to the extent thereby expressed to be amended are amended accordingly.
