Subject to this Act, anyone is entitled to obtain a plumbing licence, if he proves to the satisfaction of the board that he has had at least five years of practical plumbing experience, and that-. I). Under this Act every person is entitled to be granted a plumbing license if he proves to the satisfaction of the Board that he has had at least three years' practical experience in plumbing, and that-. I). Subject to this Act, anyone is entitled to obtain a plumbing installer license if he proves to the satisfaction of the board that he has had at least 3 years of practical plumbing experience, and that-. I).
Subject to this Act, any person shall be entitled to obtain a Gas fitter's license if he proves to the satisfaction of the Board that he has had at least three years' practical experience as a gas fitter, and that-. i). The holder of a drainer's license or interim drainer's license shall be entitled to carry out any drainage work regulated by the provisions of the Standard Sewer Bye-laws. The holder of a Gas Fitting License or Interim Gas Fitting License will be entitled to carry out any work regulated by the provisions of the Standard Gas Fitting Regulations.

PART VI-VENTILATION
Such inspection shall be carried out by the inspector as soon as practicable after receiving the notification. The costs of such inspection and testing shall be borne by the owner of the premises. Such trap shall be of such shape and construction as may be approved or permitted;
Grease, gasoline and oil traps shall be constructed in accordance with drawings approved by the Engineer. The house drainage ditch from each premises shall be dug so as to meet the sewerage connection provided by the Council for such premises. No joint shall be built into the wall except with the approval of the Engineer or Inspector.
DIVISION 23-FIXTURE TRAPS
The trap of any appliance other than a water closet pan or sink must be provided with access for cleaning purposes. The net effective area provided for exhaust ventilation from each water closet shall not be less than 27 square inches per water closet pan installed therein. Each compartment should be provided with a door that can swing away from the pan and be secured inside.
Aquatic shells and their equipment must not be closed and the entire installation must be open for inspection. The upper part of the block should be leveled with the ground and smoothed to a smooth surface with a trowel. The size of the vent must comply with the requirements of Article 194 of these regulations.
The flushing pipe from each flushing appliance to a water closet basin shall be of copper or galvanized steel or other suitable material and shall have an inside diameter of not less than 1 1 inches. Each flush valve shall be controlled by a shut-off valve fitted in an approved and easily accessible location near the water closet bowl. Storage tank vaults shall be of galvanized sheet steel, copper, lead or other approved material.
The water supply pipes from storage tanks to cisterns shall not be less than the following diameter:-. Where a urinal apartment is also a water closet, each water closet must be placed in a room that is not smaller in dimensions than the minimum dimensions of a water closet. The lighting and ventilation of a combined urinal apartment and water closet must not be less than the sum of the requirements for water closets and urinal stalls or equivalent.
Any flushing device fitted to a urinal must be fitted with an approved, properly fitting cover.

The thickness of the material in drain pipes, measured without any coating, shall not be less than -. Drain openings shall be of such diameter as to meet the requirements of Regulation 194. All offsets shall have a slope of not less than forty-five degrees from the horizontal.
Where it is necessary to fix pipes free from the wall, approved extension clips must be used. The sizes of the individual anti-siphon valves shall not be less than the sizes determined from the diameter of the operated valve trap, in accordance with the following table:-. Any such replacement, renewal, alteration or repair shall be at the owner's expense. All domestic drainage and plumbing work related to septic tank installations shall be carried out in full accordance with the requirements of these by-laws. Any septic tank receiving discharge from any installation, the cistern of which is in the opinion of the inspector suitable for use, shall be deemed to be used by the owner of the premises.
If a permit is granted for a septic tank installation at such premises, the installation, including means of disposal of the effluent, shall be of such dimensions and design as may be approved by the Board. The horizontal distance from the center line of the panel outlet to the inside of any wall of the septic tank shall not be less than nine inches;. g). The liquid capacity of the septic tank must be in accordance with the following table:-.
The upper part of the open connections of the pipes must be protected with strips of maltoid or other approved material.
Where a flue passes through woodwork or other combustible material, there shall be an air space of not less than one inch all around it. When used, such bends or offsets shall be designed to avoid sharp bends which would provide undue resistance to the flow of flue gases. All bends and offsets shall be at an angle of not less than 45 degrees from the horizontal unless otherwise approved in writing by the gas company.
Bends or offsets at an angle sharper than 45 degrees shall be of the lobster back type. Walls and roofs that are cut to enable the attachment of flues must be properly covered and made watertight. Flues terminating through a skillion-type roof shall be carried up at least two feet above the roof as shown in figure lOB in the schedule hereto.
Flues terminating through an exterior wall shall not be located directly under the eaves or in "re-entry" corners, but shall be located as shown in Figure 12 of this listing. Any flue pipe terminating outdoors shall be provided with an approved conical type fitting or an approved valve. GAS DISCHARGE REGULATIONS Sch.,f.l 157 A ducted or mechanically vented flue or several flues must be made of heat-resistant material and in a manner approved by the company.
All flues, mechanically exhausted flues and multiple flues must be adequately sparrow proof. The examination for permission is held at the times and places approved by the board. Subject to this Ordinance and these Regulations, permits granted by the Board shall remain in effect from the date of their grant until the following 30th June. Subject to the Act and these regulations, temporary permits granted by the Board shall remain in effect from the date of grant thereof until such time as the Board may determine.
Permits granted by the Board shall be numbered in consecutive order, and the Board shall keep a record of the issuance in each case in the Register of Permits.
