AmenDments to tHe Hills section 94A contriButions plAn AnD repeAl of contriButions plAn no. 5 – cAstle Hill, contriButions plAn no. 7 – soutHern precincts AnD tHe nortH Kellyville precinct section 94A contriButions plAn

Council resolved in part at its meeting of 28 March 2017 to adopt amendments to The Hills Section 94A Contributions Plan. The amendments will:

• Repeal Contributions Plan No. 5 – Castle Hill, Contributions Plan No. 7 – Southern Precincts and The North Kellyville Precinct Section 94A Contributions Plan (in accordance with clause 32 (2)(a) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000;

• Extend application of The Hills Section 94A Contributions Plan to all land within the Hills Shire and excise land and remove works items which are now located within City of Parramatta;

• Include outstanding works from Contributions Plan No. 5 – Castle Hill, Contributions Plan No. 7 – Southern Precincts (where located within The Hills Shire) and The North Kellyville Precinct Section 94A Plan within the works schedule to The Hills Section 94A Contributions Plan;

• Clarify the types of development exempt from the Section 94A levy; and

• Update the value for a number of existing items within the works schedule to The Hills Section 94A Contributions Plan.

The amendments to The Hills Section 94A Contributions Plan and repeal of Contributions Plan No. 5 – Castle Hill, Contributions Plan No. 7 – Southern Precincts and The North Kellyville Section 94A Contributions Plan will take effect on the day of this public notice.

Funds on hand in Contributions Plan No. 5 – Castle Hill, Contributions Plan No. 7 – Southern Precincts (except those due to City of Parramatta Council as a result of Local Government Area boundary adjustments) and The North Kellyville Section 94A Contributions Plan will be carried over and applied progressively to works within the adopted works schedule to The Hills Section 94A Contributions Plan.

Outstanding works under Contributions Plan No. 7 – Southern Precincts which are located within the City of Parramatta Council area have been included in the works schedule to a new contributions plan adopted by City of Parramatta Council (City of Parramatta Council S94A Development Contributions Plan [Former Hills LGA Land]), which comes into force concurrently with these amendments.

The repeal of these plans and amendment of The Hills Section 94A Contributions Plan is an important step towards creating a more streamlined, flexible and consistent contributions planning framework by reducing the number of contributions plans in operation and resolving governance issues arising from Local Government Area boundary adjustments in May 2016.

puBlic exHiBition of two DrAft mAster plAns

Two draft master plans, one for Castle Hill Cemetery and one for Sackville Cemetery have been prepared to assist with ongoing maintenance and improvement of the sites for capacity management and enhancing visitor amenity.

They are currently on public exhibition until 4pm Thursday, 20 April 2017.

The Hills Shire Council is seeking Tenders from qualified organisations for the Construction of Basins, Pathways and Landscape works – Oxlade Street Reserve, Kellyville.

The Tender Documents will be available for download from Thursday, 13 April 2017.

Applications will close on Thursday, 25 May 2017 at 2pm.

As a resident of The Hills Shire, you are entitled to four FREE native plants each year—get yours at the Native Plant Giveaway Day.

Council’s friendly staff will also be on hand to offer tips and advice on which plants will suit your garden.

There will also be a BBQ and face painting on the day.

What to bring? Your rates notice or proof of address and a bag or box to take your plants home.

Bidjiwong Community Nursery is managed by The Hills Shire Council and produces native plants for revegetation projects in The Shire’s parks and reserves. It is also a place where volunteers can learn about native flora, participate in propagating native plants and attend environmental workshops.

Native Plant Giveaway Day

The 2017-2018 ClubGRANTS funding round is now open until 19 May 2017.

Each year clubs across NSW provide support, through ClubGRANTS, to local community organisations, sporting groups and charities in their local area.

Applications are invited from local community based organisations for projects or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local Hills community.

Projects qualifying for funding may include community welfare and social services, community development, community health and employment assisting strategies. Applications are accepted for up to $10,000.
