Treasurers Position

A Not for Profit club like Turramurra Bowling Club relies on its members to support it as members and volunteers, which in turn allows it to give back to the members and the community. There are a strong group of members who are at the heart of our volunteers and do a lot, but every so often we struggle to get

someone with the right expertise to carry out a specific task. That is the situation we now find ourselves in.

The position of Treasurer is very important to a club such as ours and currently we are searching for the right person to volunteer for that position.

Being treasurer of a community organisation is a great honour, and a great responsibility. An active and alert treasurer can ensure their community group is able to extend its activities, resulting in greater benefits to the wider community.

The main duties of a treasurer are to oversee the financial administration of the organisation, review procedures and financial reporting, advise the board on financial strategy, and advise on fundraising.

We are currently in need of one of our members to volunteer for the position of Treasurer. If you enjoy the benefits of the club and are wondering what you could do to help and have a background in book keeping, accountancy or related field then this is your chance to offer your expertise and be of great benefit to your club.

We will not able to function for very long without this position being filled and if not from within, the function will have to be outsourced. This would not be an action that the board would like to take but without a volunteer from within we would be forced to do it.

Please consider and if you think that you would like to volunteer for the position approach Charles (GM) or one of the Club Directors and indicate your availability.
