An Act to amend the Acts Interpretation Act, 1915.1945.
[Assented to 8th December, 1949.]
BE IT ENACTED by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as follows:
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the" Acts Interpretation Act Amendment Act, 1949".
(2) The Acts Interpretation Act, 1915-1945, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the" Acts Interpretation Act, 1915.

(3) The Acts Interpretation Act, 1915-1945, is hereinafter called "the principal Act".
2. This Act is incorporated with the principal Act and that Act and this Act shall be read as one Act.
3. Section 4 of the principal Act is amended-
(a) by inserting after the definition of " Act" the following definition : -
" Australian citizen" means a person who is an Australian citizen under the provisions of the Act of the Commonwealth Parliament entitled the Nationality and Citizenship Act, 1948:
(b) by inserting after the definition of "bank holiday" the following definition :-

"British subject" means a person who is a British subject under the provisions of the Act of the Commonwealth Parliament entitled the Nationality and Citizenship Act, 1948:
(c) by inserting after the definition of "month" the following definition : -
"naturalised British subject" means a person who is a British subject under the provisions of the Act of the Commonwealth Parliament entitled the Nationality and Citizenship Act, 1948 and who became a British subject by naturalisation either within the Common·
wealth or elsewhere.

continue to have effect in relation to Irish citizens who ~i~ on are not British subjects in like manner as they have . effect in relation to British subjects.
