From small beginnings as a provider of dial-up and radio Internet access to local businesses, Amber IT Limited has grown continuously and organically as a communications provider serving a diverse portfolio of business-class voice and data services. Amber IT Limited is not just another link in the voice and data supply chain in Bangladesh. As a result, they have earned the reputation of a communications provider whose focus is on fully addressing the communications requirements of businesses.

Amber IT Limited achieves this not only through its comprehensive portfolio of Internet/Data Connectivity, IP Telephony and related services, but also by simplifying the process of ordering, provisioning and supporting them. Organization of my report in Chapter 1 Discussion of my motivation, goal of the internship and introduction to the company. In Chapter 2, I discuss about Amber IT Limited company overview, company profile, vision and mission, use of products and devices in the network, services and internet connection system of Amber IT.

In Chapter 3, I discuss about network system overview of Amber IT Limited, network topology, OSI/TCP layer, fiber optic cable and its types and usage equipment for physical installation of broadband network. In chapter 4 I discuss about tasks, project and activities of Amber IT Limited, customer management, configuration of Wi-Fi router, configuration of access points and mikrotik router configuration.

ORGANIZATION

  • Company Profile
  • Mission & Vision
  • Uses Products & Devices in the Network
  • Services
  • Internet Connectivity to the User Using Media Converter (MC)
  • Internet Connectivity to the User Using FTTX Technology

Amber IT programs are almost always one-third to one-half the cost of comparable services. Such as, Router (Juniper, Mikrotik), OLT, Switch, MC, ONU, Fiber Optic Module, Server PC, Fiber Optic Cable, UTP Cable, Fiber Optic Patch Cord etc. MikroTik now provides hardware and software for connecting to the Internet in most countries around the world.

They have resellers in most parts of the world and customers in probably every country in the world. An optical line termination (OLT), also called an optical line terminal, is a device that serves as the service provider endpoint of a passive optical network (PON). Converting the standard signals used by a Fiber Optic Service (FiOS) service provider to the frequency and framing used by the PON system.

MC is a network device that makes it possible to connect two different types of media such as twisted pair with fiber optic cable. This means it is used to convert light waves into Ethernet signal or Ethernet signal into light waves. It is also used to convert light waves to Ethernet signal or Ethernet signal to light waves.

Internet connection: Amber IT provides Internet connection to their client using fiber optic cable or radio link or both as primary and secondary connection. Amber IT uses Optical Line Termination (OLT) and Optical Network Unit (ONU) to provide FTTX connectivity.

NETWORK SYSTEM OVERVIEW

  • Introduction
  • Network Topology
  • OSI/TCP Layer
  • Fiber Optics Cable
  • Types of Optical Fiber
  • Optical Fiber Color Code
  • Uses Equipment for Physical Installation

Page | 12 star topology: In this topology there is a central server and each computer is directly connected to this server computer. Mesh Topology: There are two types of mesh topology: a full mesh topology and another partial or half mesh topology. In full mesh topology, each computer is directly connected to every other computer.

Data link layer: Data link layer takes data from physical layer and makes it error free for network layer. Network Layer: This layer is responsible for providing the best path for the delivery of packets from source to destination. Presentation Layer: Presentation layer is responsible for data representation in standard format like ASSCII, JPEG, MP3, MPEG etc.

A fiber optic cable consists of one or more cores, each of which is capable of transmitting messages using light waves. There are three types of fiber optic cables commonly used for physical network installation. Splice Machine, Cleaver Machine, Cutting Plus, Fiber Optic Cable, Sleeve, Bamboo Box, TJ Box, Splitter, Patch Cord, etc.
