ABSTRACT
The ability of periodical deposit kinds in collecting of fund from people
being support the amount of banking roles in providing of developing cost. This
cases suited to banking function as intermediary vehicle, where the fund that
successfully collected would be used for the continuously of development.
Periodical deposit has been able to collect the biggest fund in comparison
with other deposit such as gyro and deposit. In a periods of time 1993-2003, the
periodical deposit experienced the increasing as 917,89% that collected by
Government Bank, National Private Bank, Mixing Bank and BPR.
This case made the writer interested to discuss about the development of
periodical deposit in North Sumatera. In this theses the writer took the income
variable per capita and level of interest as dominant factor to influence the
periodical deposit, where both of this variable was be able to describe until
97,6%, while 2,4% described by the other variable.
Furthermore, suggested that establishment of efforts to increase the ability
of banking world in collecting of fund through by periodical deposit, until this
established the development that supposed the fund source from domestic.
