ABSTRACK

Rice very important comodity and strategis fur indonesian people, it is

important because rice is stapple suppliess for Indonesian people, and it is strategis

because can make effect to economy stability. Rice as one of many food, is a

comodity that is very uniq because time by time have to processes by the Government

institute activity.

Nowadays, The Government institute that processes the rice is Perum

BULOG. The duty of BU1...0G is to distribution the rice to the people and making

market operation so that the price of rice still stabil.

According the introduction above, so the writer interested to take the title of the

The research

done to the people of Rantau Parapat. And the population on

is the people that consume the rice in Rantau Parapat. The type of data

that is use was tne Primer Data and Selrunder Data. To know how large the effect

used the Double liner Regression Analisys Method, that is has three variable which is

variable xl,

x3, where xl is the medium price of rice,

people income, x3 is the number of family expence, and the three factor will

influence y or the number of rice demand.

According the regression analisys shows that the price of rice ( variable xl )

has the influence which is not significan to the number of rice demand in Rantau

Parapat. This is shows by T ratio is smaller than T Table ( -8,54062683

has the influence that is signiflcan to the

number of rice demand in Rantau Parapat. This shows by T Ratio> T Table ( 4,867 >

2,032 ) and the remain of Perum BULOG has no influence that is significan to the

number ofrice demand in Rantau Parapat.
