passionate designer and researcher who is eager to delve into the futurescapes of the city, by imagining and exploring the possible trajectories of its co-evolution with the various human di-mensions of everyday life. His fascination and inspiration emanate from the urban cultures that appear through, both the habitual and novel, socio-spatial patterns in public spaces. His work instigates this vision by trying to understand how spaces, people, machines, networks and affects are enmeshed to-gether, producing both the local urban tapestry and the planetary urbanism on a higher level of com-plexity.“

I developed a 3D parametric model for assessing the impact of urban design on the solar and wind distribution in the sur-rounding land plots. Total GPA = 4.0
Finalizing a publications-based thesis, focusing on the inter-face between planning for orderly city and the users’ con-tingent practices and alternative arenas which resist order in everyday life.
I participated in organizing five international conferences within the field of spatial
planning and design; co-managed an academic blog; co-edited an international peer-reviewed journal; and engaged in several committees and projects related to research on public spaces and urban cultures.
Besides conducting my own research project, I participated in teaching and organi-zational tasks within the faculty. I taught an interactive course on planning theory, for Master students, and courses on digital illustration for Bachelor students; plus being part or several organisational committees.
Participating with design teams on delivering large scale projects and architectural compititions for clients in Egypt and the Arab Gulf. The projects’ typologies varied be-tween residential, recreational and cultural. Also, I individually undertook small scale projects in Egypt.
Working as a studio instructor for architectural and urban design, as well as for teach-ing technical and excutional drawteach-ings to undergraduate students; besides teachteach-ing BIM modelling and digital illustration using 3Ds Max. The job also included orgnising annual and weekly events such as student art and design exhibitions.
I studied within the Housing Design porgamme. My gradua-tion project: zero carbon city. I was ranked 1st on a class of 57 students, and awarded the Ideal student title in 2008.
