ABSTRAK
Penelitian tentang Pengaruh Penggunaan Larutan Elektrolit Alami terhadap Penyusutan Bobot badan dan Status Hematologis Pada Domba ekor Gemuk Selama Transportasi telah dilaksanakan dari tanggal 1 Mei sampai 27 Juni 2013. Transportasi dilakukan dari PT Agro Jaya Mulya, Probolinggo, Jawa Timur ke Bekasi Timur, Jawa Barat , analisis darah dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisiologi Ternak dan Biokimia Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan 20 ekor domba ekor gemuk jantan umur 1,5 tahun dengan bobot badann 25-33 Kg. Transportasi menggunakan truk diesel. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), empat perlakuan yaitu R0 = Domba tidak diberikan larutan elektrolit, R1= Domba diberikan larutan elektrolit pada saat sebelum keberangkatan, R2= Domba diberikan larutan elektrolit pada istirahat pertama,dan R3= Domba diberikan larutan elektrolit pada istirahat pertama dan istirahat kedua, masing-masing diulang lima kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan R3 memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap pengurangan penyusutan bobot badan pada domba ekor gemuk dengan penyusutan 0,7 kg (2,28%) namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap status Hematologis selama transportasi.

THE EFFECT OF NATURAL ELECTROLYTE SOLUTION USAGE ON BODY WEIGHT REDUCTION AND HAEMOTOLOGICAL STATUS OF FAT-TAILED SHEEP DURING TRANSPORTATION

ABSTRACT
The research on The Effect of Natural Electrolyte Solution Usage on Body Weight Reduction and Haematological Status of Fat-tailed Sheep During Transportation has been finished from May 1st to June 27th 2013. The transportation was done starting from Agro Jaya Mulya, Ltd, Probolinggo, East Java to East Bekasi, West Java, and the analysis was done at Laboratory of Physiology and Biochemistry, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Padjadjaran. This research used 20 fat male sheep aged 1.5 year-old with 25-33 kg of body weight. The transportation used a diesel-fueled truck. The research used Completely Randomized Design experiment, four different treatments which were R0=Sheep was not given an electrolyte solution, R1= Sheep was given an electrolyte before transportation, R2=Sheep was given an electrolyte solution on the first resting, R3=Sheep was given an electrolyte solution on the first and second restings five times. The result showed that R3 treatment gave a real effect on the body weight reduction of fat-tailed sheep with 0.7 kg worth of reduction but was ineffective on the haematological status during transportation.
