IMPLIKASI GATS (General Agreement on Trade in Services) TERHADAP DAYA SAING SARJANA HUKUM KITA

ABSTRACT
Regulation of trade in services in General Agreement on Trade in Services and the presence of multinasional coroporations have a big impact to Indonesia legal profession. Referring to Article VI: 4 GATS, standardization, qualification and license to foreign lawyer has to be arranged without sacrifising national interest. Mutual Recognition Agreement constitutes a good step to empower Indonesian lawyers but the quality and competitiveness of “Sarjana Hukum” Indonesia will be determined by the producers of Indonesia Higher Education. Stressing of the education is education for professional (ius
constitutum). Academic legal education is still relevant with regard to law making (ius
constituendum) in order to fulfill the need of law in the country.
