KHAIRANI REZEKI: Penggunaan Beberapa Jenis Penahan Air untuk Mendukung Pertumbuhan Bibit Jabon Putih (Anthocephalus cadamba). Dibimbing oleh BUDI UTOMO dan AFIFFUDDIN DALIMUNTHE.
Air merupakan faktor penting dalam menunjang pertumbuhan suatu tanaman. Kekurangan air akan mengganggu aktifitas fisiologis maupun morfologis, sehingga mengakibatkan terhentinya pertumbuhan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh berbagai jenis bahan penahan air yang tepat untuk pertumbuhan bibit jabon (Anthocephalus cadamba). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2013 sampai dengan Februari 2014 di Desa Pamuntaran Kecamatan Sihapas Julu Kabupaten Padang Lawas Utara dan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap non faktorial dengan 15 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi, diameter, dan jumlah daun.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian jenis bahan penahan air memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap pertambahan tinggi dan diameter. Rataan pertambahan tinggi bibit jabon tertinggi pada perlakuan M1 (kompos) sebesar 1,86
cm. Rataan pertambahan tinggi bibit jabon terendah pada perlakuan M0 (kontrol)
sebesar 0,23 cm. Rataan pertambahan diameter bibit jabon tertinggi pada perlakuan M2 (pupuk kandang) sebesar 0,17 mm. Rataan pertambahan diameter bibit jabon
terendah pada perlakuan M7 (kontrol) sebesar 0,01 mm. Jenis bahan penahan air yang paling berpotensi menyimpan air adalah kompos dan pupuk kandang.

ABSTRACT
KHAIRANI REZEKI : Use some type of water retaining to support the growth of white jabon seedlings (Anthocephalus cadamba). Under the supervision of BUDI UTOMO and AFIFFUDDIN DALIMUNTHE.
Water is an important factor to supporting the growth of a plants. Lack of water will disturb the physiological and morphological activities, became an atrophy. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of various type of water retaining material appropriate to see influence growth of white jabon seedlings (Anthocephalus cadamba). The research was conducted in October 2013 through February 2014 in the village Pamuntaran, Sihapas Julu district, northern district of Padang Lawas and this study uses a non-factorial completely randomized design with 15 treatments and 3 replications. The parameters analyzed were height, diameter, and number of leaves.
The results showed that with briquettes of fertilizer application .The result of this study showed that the type of water retaining to give tangible effect to height and diametres. In average use some of water retaining influence to change height of jabon seedlings in M1 (compost) as highest is 1,86 cms. In average use some of water retaining influence to change lowest of jabon seedlings in M0 (control) is 0,23 cms.In average use some of water retaining influence to change diametres of jabon seedlings in M2 (manure) as highest is 0.17 cms. In average use some of water retaining influence to change diameters of jabon seedlings in M0 (control) as lowest is 0.17 mms. The most potentially kind of water retaining that can saving water is compost and manure.
