Preface

GeoUAV is one of the numerous events held in conjunction with the ISPRS Geospatial Week 2015 at La GrandeMotte, France, September 28th to October 2rd.

GeoUAV is a two-days workshop (1-2 October) dedicated to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, bringing the opportunity to research scientists and practitioners to share their experience in the development and application of UAV for geospatial issues. Its aim is to present advancements in the field of UAV geospatial data acquisition for civil usages. Themes and topics include general purpose technological and data processing developments as well as application domains such as agriculture, environment, civil engineering, etc.

A total of 27 oral presentations has been selected by the GeoUAV Scientific Committee* based on extended abstract submissions (4 pages), and organized in 6 sessions including normal length (20mn) and short length (15mn) presentations. In addition, the program features two keynotes by Dr Sylvain Labbé (Irstea, France) and Dr Frédéric Baret (INRA, France).

Selected authors were then invited to submit a full paper (8 pages) for ISPRS Archives. As a result, 18 full papers are included in the following pages, covering the various GeoUAV sessions (Signal processing and synchronization, 3D data acquisition, Navigation & sensors, Agri-environmental applications and other Applications).

The GeoUAV Conference chairs would like to thank all contributing authors and the members of the Program Committee, as well as the ISPRS Geospatial Week organizers without whom this event could not have taken place. We do hope that this workshop will contribute in some way to the amazing development of UAV for civil usage that everyone can observe nowadays, and to fruitful exchanges among the community of UAV developers and practitioners.
