R´esum´e. Dans cet article, nous am´eliorons des mesures effec-tives d’irrationalit´e pour certains nombres de la forme √3n en

utilisant des approximations obtenues `a partir de fonctions hy-perg´eom´etriques. Ces r´esultats sont tr`es proche du mieux que peut donner cette m´ethode. Nous obtenons ces r´esultats grˆace `a des informations arithm´etiques tr`es pr´ecises sur les d´enominateurs des coefficients de ces fonctions hyperg´eom´etriques.

Abstract. In this paper, we establish improved effective irra-tionality measures for certain numbers of the form √3

n, using approximations obtained from hypergeometric functions. These results are very close to the best possible using this method. We are able to obtain these results by determining very precise arith-metic information about the denominators of the coefficients of these hypergeometric functions.

Improved bounds for the Chebyshev functions in arithmetic progressionsθ(k, l;x) and ψ(k, l;x) for k= 1,3,4,6 are also pre-sented.
