Abstract
The traditio nal syste m o f indus-trial re latio ns in Australia has e mphasise d arbitrate d de c isio ns by c e ntral tribunals in o rde r to ac hie ve unifo rm wage inc re ase s witho ut any c o nside ratio n be ing give n to pro duc tivity. Sinc e the late 1 9 8 0 s, the re has be e n a mo ve to wards ne go tiatio n at the e nte rprise le ve l.
