PALM KERNEL OUTPERFORMANCE

Jakarta, 27 April 2017–PT “a poer a Agro T k a d su sidiaries “a poer a Agro" or the Co pa

released its unaudited financial and operational results for the period ending in 31 March 2017 1Q17 .

Sampoerna Agro performed well in the first quarter 2017 mainly because it was backed by high commodity prices, as global CPO stocks persisted to be at lower levels, and decent harvesting volume, as production recovery continued. Another surprising factor from palm kernel provided good support for the Company in terms of financial performance. Sampoerna Agro managed to book Rp1,029.01 billion of consolidated revenue in 1Q17, or 43% higher ersus the pre ious ear s perfor a e 1Q16 . It also paved the way for robust earnings performance which was recorded at 1,027% higher, from Rp14.02 billion in 1Q16 to Rp157.96 billion in 1Q17.

As usual, CPO and PK maintained to be the lionshare of company revenue which contributed 91% of total within 1Q17. Sales contribution from CPO within the period totaled Rp757.94 billion, or 26% higher than 1Q16 figure. The rise was attributable to average selling price which rose 35% from Rp6,547 per kg in 1Q16 to Rp8,840 per kg in 1Q17. On the other hand, sales volume of CPO during the first three months of 2017 had actually declined 6% relative to the same period in 2016 even though CPO production within the period had actually climbed 32%. The 6% decline in sales volume was due to signficantly higher inventory drawdown in 1Q16 as the figure amounted to around 28,000 tons last year,

elittli g this ear s dra do of roughly 5,000 tons.

Palm Kernel, as the second biggest revenue generating product, outshined CPO in its year-on-year performance. Revenue contribution from PK amounted to Rp183.03 billion in 1Q17, or 164% higher than 1Q16. The stellar growth performance was due to 86% growth in average selling price and 42% growth in sales volume within the period. Interestingly, average selling price for our PK had even surpassed CPO in January, and to a greater extend, in February of this year. In February 2017, our PK was sold at an average price of Rp9,381 per kg, or 4% premium against CPO within the same period.

In 1Q17, production recovery within the Company oil palm estates continued to be evidenced. CPO production reached 83,866 tons, or 32% higher than 1Q16. Big part of the production growth within the period was attributable to our Sumatra estates which saw a total of 62,650 tons of CPO being produced, or 46% higher than 1Q16 figure of 43,026 tons. Our Kalimantan estates also managed to book a 3% increase during the period, from 20,653 tons in 1Q16 to 21,217 tons in 1Q17.
