Thomas Edison said “Genius is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration”. What did he mean by that? How do you think this statement reflects the values of many Americans, both in the late 19th century and today?
I agree with the statement of the famous inventor Thomas Edison that hard work is an integral part of success and self-realization in life. The problem posed by the author is the formation and development of a personality. Genius is the highest level of development of talents and abilities. Genius makes qualitatively new, unique discoveries. In the process of self-realization, in the course of his activity, a person overcomes the emerging difficulties, his or her own laziness, timidity, disbelief in his or her own strength. Due to this, the personality's abilities develop.
The genius of a person manifests itself in his or her ability to make super-efforts when moving towards the goal, which can be expressed both in thinking about an object that hitherto did not exist in the world of thought,
The ability to make super-effort is the main feature of Genius. Without this, genius is not a genius. It is not enough to puzzle yourself with a super-goal; a goal that has never been achieved before you, thus it is necessary to reach it yet so that you can be a Genius. The commander Alexander of Macedon knew all the soldiers of his thirty thousand troops by sight. If Salvador Dali did not write his paintings for days on end, but would only invent them, he would not be a genius. Such examples are phenomenal, exceptional in their way, but they give a clear example of what opportunities are open to a person in the event of maximum use of the natural data embedded in his or her personality.
Genius is distinguished by its originality, and vivid identity. Multi-talented people of the Renaissance were vivid individuals. For example, painter, sculptor, architect, scientist, engineer Leonardo da Vinci, painter, engraver,
sculptor, architect Albrecht Durer, statesman, historian, poet, military theorist Niccolo Machiavelli.
Thus, activity is the most important field of the self-realization in the life of any person. It is the field where a person's abilities are revealed and improved.
