PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 90/2001 DATED JULY 21, 2001
THE FORMATION OF CONSUMER DISPUTE SETTLEMENT BOARDS IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF MEDAN, PALEMBANG, CENTRAL JAKARTA,
WEST JAKARTA, BANDUNG, SEMARANG, YOGYAKARTA, SURABAYA, MALANG AND MAKASSAR
THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA,
Considering :
that to implement Article 49 paragraph (1) of Law No. 8/1999 on consumer's protection, it is necessary to stipulate Presidential Decree on the formation of Consumer Dispute Settlement Boards.
In view of :
1. Article 4 paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution as has been amended through the second amendment to the 1945 Constitution;
2. Law No. 8/1999 on consumer's protection (Statute Book of 1999 No. 42, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3821).
DECIDES :
To stipulate :
PRESIDENTIAL DECREE ON THE FORMATION OF CONSUMER DISPUTE SETTLEMENT BOARDS IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF MEDAN, PALEMBANG, CENTRAL JAKARTA, WEST JAKARTA, BANDUNG, SEMARANG, YOGYAKARTA, SURABAYA, MALANG AND MAKASSAR.
Article 1
The government shall form Consumer Dispute Settlement Boards, hereinafter referred to as BPSK, in the Municipalities of Medan, Palembang, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Malang and Makassar.
Article 2
Consumers or their beneficiaries can file a lawsuit to BPSK in their domicile or nearby BPSK against business players who have harmed their interests.
Article 3
All expenses incurred by BPSK in carrying out their tasks shall be borne by the Regional Budget of the respective municipalities.
Article 4
This Presidential Decree shall come into force as from the date of promulgation
