I. LETAK GEOGRAFIS

Kecamatan Paal merah terletak di sisi selatan Kota Jambi, dengan ketinggian rata-rata 12 m dari permukaan air laut. Batas-batas Kecamatan Paal merah adalah sebagai berikut :

Sebelah Utara berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Jambi Timur

Sebelah Selatan berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Jambi Luar Kota, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi

Sebelah Timur berbatasan dengan Kecamatan Jambi Luar Kota, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi

Sebelah Barat berbatas dengan Paal merah dan Kota Baru

Keadaan wilayah Kecamatan Paal merah datar dengan luas 280,05 Km2_{dan terdiri} dari 9 Kelurahan:

1. Kelurahan Paalmerah dengan luas 51 Km2_{atau 18,21% dari luas} kecamatan.

2. Kelurahan Talang Bakung dengan luas 86,4 Km2_{atau 30,85% dari luas} kecamatan.

3. Kelurahan Eka Jaya dengan luas 80,73 Km2_{atau 28,83% dari luas} kecamatan.

4. Kelurahan Lingkar Selatan dengan luas 17,2 Km2_{atau 6,14% dari luas} kecamatan.

5. Kelurahan Payo Selincah dengan luas 44,72 Km2_{atau 15,97% dari luas} kecamatan.

I. GEOGRAPHICAL

Paal merah District is located in the south side of Jambi City, with an average height of 12 m above sea level. Paal merah District boundaries are as follows:

North side bordered with Jambi Timur District

South side bordered with Jambi Luar Kota Dsitrict, Muaro Jambi Regency East side bordered with Jambi Luar Kota Dsitrict, Muaro Jambi Regency West side bordered with Paal merah and Kota Baru District.

The Paal merah District’s contour of land are flat with an area of 280,05 Km2 and consists of 9 villages:

1. Paalmerah village with an area of 51 km2_{wide or 18.21% of the districts.} 2. Talang Bakung village with an area of

86.4 km2_{wide or 30.85% of the} districts.

3. Eka Jaya village with 80.73 Km2_wide or 28.83% of the districts.

4. Lingkar Selatan village with 17.2 Km2 wide or 6.14% of the districts. 5. Payo Selincah village with 44.72 Km2

II. PEMERINTAHAN

Berdasarkan SK Gubernur Jambi no.9/A-I/1965 pada 05 Juni 1965 tentang penetapan kecamatan di Kota Jambi, Kota Jambi memiliki 6 (enam) kecamatan. Salah satu kecamatan di Kota Jambi adalah Kecamatan Paal merah.

Kecamatan Paal merah saat ini terdiri dari 5 (lima) kelurahan.

Sampai dengan tahun 2018, jumlah Camat yang pernah memimpin Paal merah sebanyak 1 orang.

II. GOVERNMENT

Based on Governor Decree no.9/A-I/1965 on June 05th_{1965 about} determination districts at Jambi City, Jambi city have 6 (six) districts. One of districts is Paal merah District.

Paal merah District currently consists of 5 (five) urban villages.

Untill 2018, numbers of District’s Head had ever led Paal merah District as many as 1 peoples.

Kecamatan Paal merah adalah kecamatan terbesar kedua setelah kecamatan Kotabaru.

Luas wilayah Kecamatan Paal merah adalah 27,13 km2_{. Kelurahan yang} terluas adalah Kelurahan Eka Jaya dan yang terkecil adalah Kelurahan Lingkar Selatan.

Diantara 5 (lima) kelurahan di Kecamatan Paal merah, kepadatan penduduk terbesar ada pada tiga kelurahan, yaitu Kelurahan Lingkar Selatan, Talang Bakung dan Payo Selincah

III. POPULATION

Paal merah District is the second biggest district after Kotabaru District. The land area or Paal merah District is 27.13 km2_{. The largest urban village is} Eka Jaya and the smallest is Lingkar Selatan.

Between 5 (five) urban villages at Paal merah District, the three biggest population’s density are Lingkar Selatan, Talang Bakung and Payo Selincah.

36 Paal Merah Dalam Angka 2019 IV. SOSIAL

Di Kecamatan Paal Merah, fasilitas pendidikan sudah sangat lengkap, baik negeri maupun swasta.

Semua kelurahan di Paal Merah memiliki sekolah dasar negeri. Sekolah Lanjutan Tingkat Pertama negeri terdapat di Kelurahan Talang Bakung, Lingkar Selatan dan Payo Selincah. Dan, sudah ada Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan negeri.

Kecamatan Paal Merah memiliki fasilitas kesehatan yang lengkap. Terdapat 2 (dua) Rumah Sakit, 4 Puskesmas, dan 4 (empat) Puskesmas Pembantu.

IV SOCIAL

At Paal Merah District, the education facilities is complete, both public and private school.

All urban villages at Paal Merah District have the public primary school. The public junior high school school is only at Talang Bakung, Lingkar Selatan and Payo Selincah. And, there is Vocational High School at Paal Merah District.

Paal Merah district have a complete health facilities. There are 2 (two) hospitals, 4 (four) government clinics, and 4 (four) sub center of government clinics.
