Vocabulary is one of the most important language components that must be learned by students because it is an essential means to conduct our communication with one another. But students have difficulty in mastering vocabulary. It can be looked from the passive students in class. Based on interview of the teacher English the problem of the students is how to deal with vocabulary. Sometimes, the students could master and always remember all the vocabularies learned at school well, but after they have finished their study, they lose many of English words and only limited numbers are remembered.

The objective of this research is to find out whether there is significant difference of the vocabulary mastery of the fourth grade students of SDIT Faidlurrahman Cendono Dawe Kudus in academic year 2015/2016 before and after being taught by using Fan-N-Pick technique.

This researcher hold an experimental research with pre-test and post-test to an experimental group. The subject of this research is the fourth grade of SDIT Faidlurrahman Cendono Dawe Kudus in academic year 2015/2016. The population was limited into sample group by doing purposive sampling. Then the researcher decided the fourth class as the sample of this research.

Rosyidah, Kholifatur. 2015. Penguasaan Kosa kata Siswa Kelas IV SDIT Faidlurrahman Cendono Dawe Kudus Tahun Pelajaran 2015/2016 yang Diajar Menggunakan Tekhnik Fan-N-Pick. Skripsi. Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Muria Kudus. Pembimbing: (i) Diah Kurniati, S.Pd, M.Pd., (ii) Fajar Kartika, SS, M.Hum.

Kosa kata adalah salah satu komponen bahasa yang sangat penting yang harus dipelajari oleh siswa. Karena dengan menguasai kosa kata mereka akan lebih mudah untuk berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Akan tetapi siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam pemahaman kosa kata. Ini bisa terlihat ketika mereka pasif di dalam kelas. Berdasarkan interview pada guru Bahasa Inggris, masalah yang dihadapi siswa adalah bagaimana menyelesaikan masalah kosa kata. Kadang-kadang siswa bisa menguasai kosa kata dan selalu mengingat semua kosa kata yang dipelajari di sekolah dengan baik. Tapi setelah siswa selesai pembelajaran mereka kehilngan banyak kosa kata yang telah dipelajari dan hanya mengingat beberapa kosa kata saja.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan apakah ada perbedaan yang siknifikan penguasaan kosa kata siswa kelas IV SDIT Faidlurrahman Cendono Dawe Kudus tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 sebelum dan sesudah diajar menggunakan tekhnik Fan-N-Pick.

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan memberikan pre-test dan pos-test pada satukelompok. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDIT Faidlurrahman Cendono Dawe Kudus tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Populasi dibatasi menjadi kelompok sampel dengan melakukan pengambilan sampel dengan memilih satu kelas berdasarkan tujuan peneliti. Kemudian peneliti mendapatkan kelas IV sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini.
