Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education and VEDC for Business and Tourism agreed to choose Ladies Dress Making/ Fashion Technology as a skill to be competed in LKS.
The winner will further participate in International level. This LKS refers to World Skills Competition test project.
This competition focuses on skills and ability of participants in processing of any fashion product making. There will be no test on theoretical knowledge neither written nor interview.
This Test Project will evaluate the Competitor while carrying out the following tasks: Techniques in designing, draping design on mannequin, pattern in drafting
technique, cutting, sewing/assembling, fusing and pressing. The Competitor has to:
Design collection set of garments and create technical drawings
Drape fabric on mannequin follow to the specific design on new trend magazine.
Construct bustier following to the provided pattern.
Pattern making use drafting technique for bustier
Mark, measure and cut
Use various industrial machines efficiently
Finish some parts of the garment with hand sewing
Doing pattern alteration
Pressing and finishing
This test project is made of 4 difference modules total 18 hours in 3 (three) working days :
Group 1 project will consist of : Module 1: Design (1 Hour )
Module 2 : Pattern Realization (1 Hour) Module 3 : Dress (8 Hours)
Module 4 : Jacket (8 Hours)
Description of Project and Task Each Module :
Module 1 : Design Illustration (Objective and Subjective Marking) Maximum working hours for this module is 1 Hour
They have to illustrate the design for module 3 (dress) which is their own creation of the dress as well as a random swatch of fabric. They will be required to sketch garments according to the properties of the fabric as well as target market. A cocktail concept to be required theme is “Contemporer festival dress and jacket”. Competitor will Showing all the material which use in module 3- 4, all the design must be submitted after allocation time is over finished or not finished.
Design of Embellishments is free design (with item on the mistery box). The Design will be evaluation on the following criteria

Quality of pattern (neatly and clean presentation)
Clear detail information of all information related to the cutting instruction, such as: name of every block part, size, numbering, cut pieces
