Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerimaan khalayak terhadap film Arisan! 2, khususnya pembacaan terhadap isu-isu dalam film tersebut. Isu tersebut adalah penggambaran perempuan yang lebih dominan, keberadaan kaum LGBT yang ditampilkan secara eksplisit, dan realitas mengenai sosialita dalam kehidupan metropolis.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis resepsi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah khalayak dari film Arisan! 2, di mana khalayak dipandang sebagai producer of meaning. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam.

The purpose of this research was to determine the acceptance of the
audience toward Arisan! 2 movie, especially the reading of the issues in the film.
The issues are more dominant portrayal of women, the existence of LGBT that
shown explicitly, and the reality of socialite in the metropolis life.
The research method used was a qualitative research method with
reception analysis approach. The subjects were the audience of the film Arisan! 2,
where the audience is seen as a producer of meaning. Data was collected by
in-depth interviews.
The results of this research indicate that there are a variety of readings
from someone toward three dominant issues in this movie. They can be
positioning themselves differently. However, it was found that the Arisan! 2
movue was interpreted dominantly by two informants, and there was also an
informant who was not affected because he was negotiating and opposition
