i GAMBARAN MOTIVASI MENJADI RELAWAN DI KALANGAN
MAHASISWA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran motivasi menjadi relawan di kalangan mahasiswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif yang memberikan gambaran mengenai motivasi, ditinjau dari teori motivasi fungsional. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 212 orang yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala hasil adaptasi
the volunteer functions inventory (VFI) oleh Gil Clary dan Mark Snyder. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) fungsi yang paling dominan adalah fungsi
understanding, values dan enhancement sementara fungsi terendah adalah fungsi
social dan protective (2) sebagian besar subjek penelitian yaitu sebanyak 206 orang berada pada kategori motivasi yang tergolong tinggi (3) tidak ada perbedaan fungsi motivasi antara relawan mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan (4) berdasarkan suku bangsa, gambaran motivasi suku bangsa Aceh, memiliki skor tinggi pada fungsi
social, values, dan understanding. Batak dan Melayu tinggi pada fungsi values dan
understanding. Betawi tinggi pada fungsi career, values, dan understanding. Bugis tinggi di seluruh fungsi kerelawanan. Jawa dan Minang tinggi pada fungsi
understanding. Nias tinggi pada fungsivalues, understanding, danprotective. Sunda tinggi pada fungsi values, understanding, dan enhancement serta Tionghoa tinggi pada fungsi understanding, dan enhancement (5) berdasarkan agama, gambaran motivasi agama Islam dominan pada fungsi values, agama Kristen dominan pada fungsivalues danunderstanding, agama Katolik dominan pada fungsi understanding
dan enhancement, serta agama Buddha dominan pada fungsi career, understanding,
enhancement, danprotective.

AMONG COLLEGE STUDENTS

This research aims to provide an overview of volunteer motivations among college students. Quantitative descriptive method is applied in this research to describe motivation through Functional Motivation Theory. This research involved 212 college students from all around Indonesia. Measuring instrument used in this research is an adaptation scale from Volunteer Functions Inventory (VFI) by Gil Clary and Mark Snyder. The results of this study showed that (1) the most dominant function of volunteer motivations among college students are the function of understanding, values, and enhancement, while the lowest functions are social and protective (2) subjects mostly indicated have high score in motivation (206 people) (3) there is no functions differences based on male or female volunteers among college students (4) based on volunteer’s tribes, Aceh has high scores on social, values, and understanding. Batak and Melayu have high scores on values and understanding functions. Betawi has high scores on career, values, and understanding. Bugis has high scores on the voluntary function. Jawa and Minang have high scores in understanding function. Nias has high scores on values, understanding, and protective functions. Sunda has high scores on values, understanding, and enhancement, and Tionghoa has high scores on the function of understanding, and enhancement (5) based on volunteer’s religions, Muslim is dominant in values, Christian is dominant in values and understanding, Catholic is dominant in understanding and enhancement, and Buddhism is dominant in career, understanding, enhancement and protective.
