MASRIDA WASILAH. Pengaruh Variasi Salinitas Dan Adaptasi Air Tawar Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Biomassa Serta Distribusi Senyawa Polyisoprenoid Pada Semai Rhizophora apiculata BI. Dibimbing oleh MOHAMMAD BASYUNI dan POPPY ANJELISA Z. HASIBUAN.
Studi ini menggambarkan pertumbuhan dan biomassa serta distribusi senyawa polyisoprenoid pada semai R. apiculata terhadap variasi salinitas dan adaptasi air tawar. Propagul R. apiculata dikumpulkan dari Pulau Sembilan, Pangkalan Susu, Sumatera Utara ditanam dibawah variasi salinitas 0.0%, 0.5%, 1.5%, 2.0%, dan 3.0% selama tiga bulan. Setelah tiga bulan ditumbuhkan, semai R. apiculata dibagi menjadi dua kelompok perlakuan yang kemudian ditumbuhkan selama tiga bulan. Kelompok pertama terus menerus dalam variasi salinitas dan kelompok kedua dalam adaptasi air tawar. Daun, batang, dan akar semai R. apiculata yang telah dipanen setelah enam bulan budidaya diisolasi polyisoprenoid alkohol kemudian dianalisis dengan dua dimensi kromatografi untuk mengetahui distribusi senyawa polyisoprenoid.
Parameter pertumbuhan diukur berdasarkan tinggi dan diameter semai R. apiculata. Tinggi semai R. apiculata secara signifikan tumbuh pada konsentrasi salinitas 3.0% dan 3.0% → 0.0%. Pertumbuhan terbaik semai R. apiculata terdapat pada salinitas 1.5%. Ditemukan perbedaan yang signifikan pada berat basah batang semai R. apiculata terhadap salinitas dan adaptasi air tawar (salinitas 3.0% dan 3% → 0.0%) dan berat kering batang (salinitas 3% → 0.0%). Distribusi polyprenol dan dolichol pada jaringan akar dan daun R. apiculata termasuk tipe I dengan panjang rantai karbon C85-C100, C85-C100, C85-C105, C85-C100, C85-C95 pada
jaringan daun serta panjang rantai karbon C85-C105, C85-C105, C85-C105, C85-C110,
C85-C100 pada jaringan akar pada salinitas 0.0%, 1.5%, 1.5% → 0.0%, 3.0%, dan
3.0% → 0.0%.

ABSTRACT

This study described growth, biomass, and polyisoprenoids distribution of R. apiculata seedlings under salinity and subsequent fresh water. Propagules of R. apiculata were collected from Pulau Sembilan Pangkalan Susu, Sumatera Utara and were grown under salinity 0.0%, 0.5%, 1.5%, 2.0%, and 3.0% during three months. After three months plantation, R. apiculata seedlings divided into two groups. The first group continuously in salinity and the second group in fresh water to recover from salinity. Leaves, stems, and roots of R. apiculata seedlings were harvested after six months and were isolated for polyisoprenoids alchohol analyzing used two-dimensional thin layer chromatography.
Growth parameter was measured according height and diameter of R. apiculata seedlings. Height of R. apiculata seedlings significantly grew at 3.0%
and 3.0% → 0.0%. The best growth of R. apiculata seedlings were 1.5%. Otherwise significantly wet weight of stem (3.0% and 3% → 0.0%) and dry weight stem (3% → 0.0%) were found. Distribution polyrenols and dolichols in leaves and roots of R. apiculata seedlings were type I with carbon chain length C85-C100, C85-C100, C85-C105, C85-C100, C85-C95 in leaves and C85-C105, C85-C105,
C85-C105, C85-C110, C85-C100 in roots under salinity 0.0%, 1.5%, 1.5% → 0.0%,
3.0%, and 3.0% → 0.0%.
