PROCEDURAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE REGISTRATION OF TYPES AND VARIANTS OF MOTOR VEHICLES

THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF METAL, MACHINE, ELECTRONIC AND MULTIFARIOUS INDUSTRIES,
Considering :
a. that as the implementation of the Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 276/MPP/Kep/6/1999 on the registration of types and variants of motor vehicles;
b. that in relation thereto, it is necessary to stipulate a decision of the Director General of Metal, Machine, Electronic and Multifarious Industries
In view of :
1. Law No. 5/1984 on industry;
2. Government Regulation No. 17/1986 on the authority to regulate, foster and develop industries; 3. Presidential Decree No. 44/1994 on principles or organizations of ministries;
4. Presidential Decree No. 122/M/1998 on the establishment of the development reforms cabinet; 5. Presidential Decree No. 61/1998 on the status, tasks, organizational structures and working
arrangements of ministries as already amended several times the latest by Presidential Decree No. 142/1998;
6. Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 30/MPP/SK/2/1996 on the determination of kinds of industries in the fostering of the respective directorates general and the authority to grant industrial business licenses and business licenses of industrial estates within the Ministry of Industry;
7. Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 444/MPP/Kep/9/98 jo. No. 24/MPP/Kep/1999 on organization and working arrangement of the Minister of Industry and Trade;
8. Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 275/MPP/Kep/6/1999 on the automotive industry; 9. Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 276/MPP/Kep/6/1999 on the registration of types

THE DECISION OF THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF METAL, MACHINE, ELECTRONIC AND MULTIFARIOUS INDUSTRIES ON PROCEDURAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE REGISTRATION OF TYPES AND VARIANTS OF MOTOR VEHICLES
Article 1
New registration of types and variants of domestic-assembled motor vehicles
Motor vehicles assembly manufacturers filing applications for the new registration of types and variants of motor vehicles for the assembly purpose shall have the following obligations :
1. submitting applications for the registration of types/variants;
2. completing forms of the registration of types/variants by enclosing : a. photocopies of industrial business licenses remaining valid;
b. photocopies of evidence of certificates of rights to marks/brands or registration identities of marks/brands according to the provisions in force;
c. photocopies of certificates of successful tests from authorized institutions; d. technical pictures and specifications of types registered;
e. production plans of types and variants registered. Article 2
Registration of the modification of types and variants of domestic-assembled motor vehicles.
Motor vehicles assembly manufacturers filing applications for the modification of types and variants of motor vehicles for the assembly purpose shall have the following obligations :
1. submitting applications for the registration of modification of types/variants;
2. completing forms of the registration of modification of types/variants by enclosing : a. photocopies of industrial business licenses remaining valid;
b. photocopies of evidence of certificates of rights to marks/brands or registration identities of marks/brands according to the provisions in force;
c. photocopies of certificates of successful tests from authorized institutions; d. technical pictures and specifications of the old types;
e. photocopies of registration identities of types and variants; f. reports on production of the old types.
Article 3
New registration of types and variants of imported motor vehicles.
Motor vehicle importer companies filing applications for the registration of types/variants of motor vehicles shall have the following obligations :
2. completing forms of the registration of types/variants by enclosing : a. technical pictures and specifications of types/variants registered; b. import plans of types/variants registered;
c. photocopies of certificates of successful tests from authorized institutions for the import exceeding ten units or from countries of origin of motor vehicle manufacturers for the import not exceeding ten units;
d. photocopies of SIUP and ASI remaining valid;
e. letters of statement made out before notaries which state that importer give guarantees for quality and after-sale service to consumers in Indonesia.
Article 4 Submission of applications
The applications for the new registration or modification of types/variants of motor vehicles shall be submitted to the Director General of Metal, Machine, Electronic and Multifarious Industries.
Article 7 Forms of registration of types or variants
The model of forms of registration or modification of types or variants of motor vehicles as meant in Articles 1, 2 and 3 shall be as contained in Attachment I to this decision.
Article 8 Certificates of registration of types or variants
Registration identities of types or variants or motor vehicles as meant in this decision shall be as contained in Attachment II to this decision.
Article 9
This decision shall come into force as from the date of stipulation.
