Segala puji dan syukur kami ucapkan kehadirat Allah SWT, karena atas izin-Nya saya dapat menyelesaikan “Buku Siswa Bahasa Inggris kelas IX AUTIS”. saya juga mengucapkan terimakasih kepada semua pihak yang berperan dalam penyusunan buku siswa ini khususnya kepada, Direktorat Jendral Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan dibawah koordinasi Direktur Dit. Pembinaan Pendidikan Khusus dan Layanan Khusus, dengan dibantu Kasubdit Pembelajaran, Kasi Pelaksanaan Kurikulum, Kasi Penilaian dan Akreditasi, tim ahli/narasumber, penelaah/editor, ilustrator dan tim tehnis Dit. PPKLK serta staf subdit Pembelajaran Dit PPKLK yang telah memberikan bantuan baik sarana dan prasarana, kritik serta masukan yang membangun terhadap materi dan penyajian buku ini.

Buku ini disusun berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 di SMPLB yang mulai diterapkan. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut,maka saya menyusun buku siswa berdasarkan KI dan KD bahasa Inggris kelas IX untuk Autis yang telah ditetapkan.

Kegiatan pembelajaran dalam buku ini menerapkan pendekatan saintifik yang memungkinkan siswa tidak hanya mengembangkan ranah kognitif (pengetahuan) tetapi juga mengembangkan ranah afektif (sikap) dan ranah psikomotorik (keterampilan) sehingga siswa dapat mengembangkan diri secara utuh menjadi individu kreatif, inovatif, produktif dan berkarakter. Materi yang ada pada buku ini dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada siswa dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Materi yang ada lebih fungsional dan bermanfaat bagi siswa autis dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Selain itu, penilaian dalam buku ini diarahkan pada penilaian otentik untuk mengetahui sejauh mana ketiga ranah itu dapat dikembangkan siswa dan penilaian dapat dilakukan baik oleh guru atau oleh siswa sendiri melalui progaram penilaian diri.

Melalui kurikulum 2013 SMPLB ini, diharapkan semua siswa bisa menjadi orang hebat asalkan siswa itu memiliki kemauan keras san selalu berupaya untuk belajar terus dan menghasilkan karya terbaik. Buku ini memuat banyak kegiatan kreatif dan inofatif.

saya menyadari masih terdapat kekurangan dalam buku ini, untuk itu kritik dan saran terhadap penyempurnaan buku ini dapat memberi manfaat bagi siswa khususnya bagi semua pihak yang membutuhkan.
