FORMULASI DAN UJI EFEK ANTI-AGING DARI MASKER WAJAH YANG MENGANDUNG MINYAK BIJI
BUNGA MATAHARI (Helianthus annuus L.) ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang: Kulit adalah organ yang esensial dan vital dalam gambaran kesehatan dan kehidupan serta bersifat sangat kompleks, elastis, dan sensitif. Antioksidan seperti vitamin E, asam oleat dan linoleat yang terkandung dalam minyak biji bunga matahari dipercaya dapat memperlambat proses penuaan dini. Kemampuan tersebut menjadi alasan utama penggunaan minyak biji bunga matahari yang diformulasikan dalam bentuk sediaan masker wajah dalam bentuk Clay Facial Mask.
Tujuan: Memformulasi sediaan masker wajah dalam berbagai konsentrasi Minyak Biji Bunga Matahari dan menguji efek anti-aging dari Minyak Biji Bunga Matahari selama empat minggu perawatan.
Metode: Masker wajah diformulasikan dalam formula Clay Facial Mask dengan menambahkan Minyak Biji Bunga Matahari dengan konsentrasi Minyak Biji Bunga Matahari yaitu 0 (blanko), 4, 6 dan 8%. Evaluasi sediaan masker wajah meliputi homogenitas, pH dan stabilitas sediaan yang terdiri dari perubahan bau, warna, waktu kering, dan konsistensi sediaan selama 12 minggu dalam suhu kamar dan pengukuran aktifitas anti-aging. Keadaan kulit diukur dengan alat Skin Analyzer Aramo-SG. Sediaan masker wajah diuji pada punggung tangan sukarelawan berukuran 3 cm2 selama empat minggu pemakaian. Parameter efektifitas anti-aging antara lain kelembapan, kehalusan kulit, ukuran pori, dan banyaknya noda. Data sebelum dan sesudah perawatan dicatat setiap minggu dan dianalisis dengan IBM SPSS 20.
Hasil : Hasil menunjukkan sediaan stabil dari segi bau, warna, konsistensi, dan berada pada pH 6,0 - 6,7. Efektivitas anti-aging dari sediaan masker wajah yang mengandung konsentrasi minyak biji bunga matahari 8% merupakan yang paling efektif. Laju penyebaran dan waktu kering masker wajah memenuhi standar rentang waktu (4 – 6,5 menit).
Kesimpulan: Minyak Biji Bunga Matahari dapat diformulasikan dalam sediaan masker wajah dengan berbagai konsentrasi dan memiliki efek anti-aging dengan meningkatkan kelembapan, kehalusan kulit, memperkecil ukuran pori, dan mengurangi banyaknya noda.

FORMULATION AND ANTI-AGING EFFECT TEST FROM SUNFLOWER SEED OIL (Helianthus annuus L.)
FACE MASK ABSTRACT
Background: Skin is an organ that essential and vital to the health and life. Skin is also very complex, elastic, and sensitive. Antioxidant such as vitamin E, oleic acid, and linoleic acid from sunflower seed oil are believed to delay the aging. Purpose: To formulate and to evaluate the anti-aging effect from sunflower seed oil face mask in various concentrations for four weeks treatment.
Method: Sunflower seed oil was formulated into face mask (clay facial mask). Face mask formulation was prepared with various concentrations of sunflower seed oil at 0 (blanko), 4, 6, and 8%. Evaluation of face mask preparation included homogeneity, pH, and stability test of facial mask preparation covering changes in odor, color, drying time and consistency of mask during 12 weeks at room temperature (30 ± 2oC). The measurement of anti-aging activity was carried out with 12 women volunteers (20-25 years old) having skin problems and divided to 4 groups of concentrations. Skin condition was measured by Aramo-SG skin analyzer. Face mask was applied with marking a square in 3cm2 size for 4 weeks into volunteers hand. The parameters of anti-aging include moisture, smoothness, pore size, and the number of spots. Data was obtained before and after applying mask every week and was analyzed using IBM SPSS 20.
Result: The result showed that all face mask was stable in terms of odor, color, consistency, and pH (6.0 - 6.7). The effectiveness of anti-aging showed that the face mask contain 8% of sunflower seed oil was the most effective. The spreadability and the drying time of face mask showed the standard time range(4- 6.5 minutes).
Conclusion: Sunflower seed oil was able to formulate in to face mask. That face mask from sunflower seed oil was able to provide as anti-aging by increased the moisture, smoother skin, minimize the pores, and decreased the number of spots.
