LETTER OF INTENT BETWEEN
AGENCY FOR MARINE AND FISHERIES RESEARCH AND HUMAN RESOURCES
MINISTRY OF MARINE AFFAIRS AND FISHERIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
AND
THE NATIONAL SPACE POLICY SECRETARIAT CABINET OFFICE OF JAPAN
ON
APPLICATION OF TECHNOLOGY TO SUPPORT MARINE AND FISHERIES RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
Agency for Marine and Fisheries Research and Human Resources,
The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia
and the Cabinet Office of Japan, hereinafter referred to singularly as "the
Participant" and collectively as "the Participants";
NOTING the wishes to cooperate on space utilization for peaceful purpose;
TAKING INTO ACCOUNT the visit of the Japanese delegation for Institute for Marine Research and Observation of the Agency for Marine and Fisheries Research and Human Resources, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia to discuss future cooperation;
RECOGNIZING the benefits arising from such cooperation for national development of the Republic of Indonesia;
HAVE REACHED the following consensus:
1. Confirmed intentions to explore the feasibility to formulate cooperative projects on marine and fisheries affairs using space technologies over the seas around Indonesia, which will be coordinated by the Cabinet Office on Japanese side, and The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia on Indonesian side.
2. The cooperative projects may include human resources developments by technical and other kind of support from Japanese side to Indonesian side.
3. For the purpose of the above 1., the Participants will continue to exchange views as necessary. Relevant ministries, departments, agencies, and other sectors of each side may engage in these cooperative activities.
The implementation of such cooperation will be carried out through arrangement to be made by the Participants.
Signed in Jakarta, on the twenty first day of March in the year of two thousand seventeen, in English languages in two copies.
