iii ABSTRACT

This title of this paper is A DESCRIPTION OF MAIN CHARACTERS IN JAMES

ROLLINS‟S NOVEL ALTAR OF EDEN_.The objective of this paper is to find the

main characters. The method of the writer used in this paper is library method. In order to get the needed result, the data are taken from the story of novel and other books especially about literature. The data then are studied based on four aspects.

From the study, it is to find out the physical appearances of the main characters, what

they say about themselves, what other people say about them, and their environmental setting.

menemukan karakter utama. Metode yang penulis gunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah metode pustaka. Untuk mendapatkan hasil, data diambil dari cerita novel dan buku lainnya terutama tentang sastra. Data kemudian dipelajari berdasarkan empat aspek. Dari penelitian ini, untuk mengetahui penampilan fisik dari karakter utama, apa yang mereka katakan tentang diri mereka sendiri, apa yang orang lain katakan tentang mereka, dan lingkungan mereka.
