ABSTRACT
Acne vulgaris or blemish, is one of the most common skin problems found in society. This condition is often chronic and relapsing. The colonization of Propionibacterium acnes is one of the etiology of acne vulgaris. There are many ways to prevent acnes, and of them is the use of antiacne powder that contain various active substance such as triclosan, salisylic acid, and sulphur. The objective of this study is to understand the effectivity of those active substance when combined together to suppress the growth of P.acne, This research was constructed in experimental design with disc diffusion method. The result obtained is that the powder containing sulphur and salisylic acid in low concentration have a better suppressive effect towards the growth of bacteria, whereas the powder containing sulphur and triclosan have a better suppressive method in higher concentration. An ANOVA test done to the data showed a p value <0.05 which conclude that there are significant differences between a number of antiacne powder towards the growth of P.acnes
