ABSTRAK
Adia Puja Pradana, 210110110615, 2014. Skripsi ini berjudul, Representasi Keterlibatan Tentara dalam Pembantaian Anggota PKI pada Sampul MBM Tempo Edisi 1-7 Oktober 2012. Pembimbing utama Dr. H. Aceng Abdullah, M.Si, dan pembimbing pendamping Hj. Henny Srimulyani, Dra., M.Si. Jurusan Jurnalistik, Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi, Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna denotasi, makna konotasi, mitos dan ideologi yang muncul dari foto dalam sampul Tempo “Pengakuan Algojo 1965” edisi 1-7 Oktober 2012.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan foto tersebut merepresentasikan keterlibatan Tentara Indonesia dalam sejumlah pembantaian anggota PKI pada tahun 1965. Keterlibatan tentara ditunjukkan dalam sampul Tempo yang digambarkan tengah menggiring para Gerwani.
Mitos yang muncul dari foto ini adalah bahwa tentara patuh terhadap perintah atasannya sekalipun harus menghilangkan nyawa manusia, sedangkan ideologi yang muncul adalah kekuasaan. Tempo memasang foto tersebut sebagai sampulnya dalam tema “algojo” dinilai sangat berani dan lugas. Tempo tidak gentar dalam memberikan fakta yang berbeda dari yang selama ini diberikan oleh pemerintah.
Simpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah Tempo menyuarakan fakta lain berdasarkan para pelaku pembantai PKI, yang selama ini selalu ditutupi oleh pemerintah, khususnya era Orde Baru. Tempo memberitahu bahwa bukan hanya PKI yang harus bertanggung jawab atas peristiwa G30S, namun tentara dan pemerintah pun harus bertanggung jawab.

This study used qualitative research methods with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis techniques. This study aims to determine the meaning of denotation, connotation meaning, myths and ideologies that emerged from the photo on cover Tempo "Executioner Recognition 1965" edition 1 to 7 October 2012.
The results of this study showed the photo represents the involvement of the Indonesian military in the number of members of the PKI massacres in 1965. The military's involvement in the cover of Tempo indicated that depicted Gerwani herding.
The myth that emerges from this picture is that the army obedient to the commands of his superiors even have to eliminate human life, while the emerging ideology is power. Tempo attach the photo as a cover in the theme of "executioner" is considered very bold and straightforward. Tempo is not afraid to give you the facts different from that currently provided by the government.
The conclusions obtained from this study is another fact of Tempo voiced by the actors butcher PKI, which has always been covered by the government, particularly the New Order era. Tempo told that not only should the PKI that is responsible for the events of the G-30, but the military and the government should be responsible.
