Young Leaders for Indonesia Kampus (YLIK) is a professional
development program for high performing students
A professional development program for high-performing
second and third-year students to:
1.
Enhance students’ personal leadership skills and improve their
ability to lead change within the greater community
2.
Equip students with structuring and problem-solving skills to
enhance academic performance and prepare them for their
professional future
YLI Kampus is a part of ‘Young Leaders for Indonesia’ (YLI)
program which aims to develop 1,000 young Indonesian leaders
over the next 5 years
Context
•
Indonesia is in the midst of a generational transition•
There is a shortage of leaders in the country, particularly with a 21stcentury mindset
•
Two critical point to shape future Indonesian leaders:– The transition from final year university to their first job – The transition from young
promising professionals to leaders of influencing institutions or
communities

• How much time am I expected to devote to the program?
The program comprises of 3 two-day forums, to be delivered on Saturday and Sunday, approximately every 2 months. The program timeline spans over 6 months. The first forum is scheduled to start in February 2011 and the last forum is estimated to be completed in July 2011. In between the forums, there are project assignments and coaching/mentoring activities. The program is designed to be delivered on weekends to accommodate activities of your current study at the university. Upon acceptance to participate in the program, you will be asked to be fully committed to complete the 6 months program.
• Is this program only for those in business or economics major?
Not at all. Previously, we selected participants from various majors, e.g. medicine, astronomy,
international relations, environmental engineering, accounting, etc. The YLI Kampus program aims to develop future leaders of Indonesia across all fields and sectors. We recognize that there are many ways to create positive change and we would like to help you in working toward achieving your leadership vision, whatever that may be.
• What is the fee for the program?
The YLI Kampus program is free of charge. In addition, within limits, we will reimburse travel and accommodation expenses for selected participants during their participation in each forum.
