The background of this study shows that senior high school career planning is still low levels in competence to understand themselves, to understand the environment, formulating options and plans of action. This condition is exposed when the absence of collaborative efforts are programmed and executed between counselor with parents to help students a better career planning. The resulting instability of career planning, students are not able to choose a career that accordance with the conditions of self and environment. The ability of students to career planning is not only the task of counselor alone, but requires a cooperative effort (collaborative) from various parties, one of which is the parent. For that, as an effort to help students career planning need for a framework between counselor with parents through a collaborative model of career guidance. The objective of this research is formulated a model of collaborative career guidance in establishing a high school student career planning that includes aspects of self-understanding, understanding the environment, the formulation of choice and action plans. This study uses research and development approaches and methods of quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. Study consists of five steps is preliminary studies, designing hypothetical model, due diligence, field testing and dissemination models. Sample were students of SMA N Payakumbuh selected by proportional random sampling technique on preliminary research and multistage sampling technique in field testing. Data was collected using steadiness inventory of high school students careers planning are analyzed with statistical analysis with independent sample t test. Results showed (1) the stability of state high school students careers planning in Payakumbuh in the medium category, (2) counselor competences in a collaborative career guidance in Payakumbuh high schools in the low category, (3) the conditions and implementation of collaborative guidance career in Payakumbuh high schools is not meet expectations, (4) development of collaborative career guidance models in establishing a high school student career planning through expert validation and (5) collaborative career guidance model effectively in establishing a high school student career planning. Thus, the collaborative career guidance models can be considered in the development of guidance program in establishing of high school students careers planning.
