7. Motions will be all prepared for all rounds taken from three big topics which are education, environment and economy. Case building time will be 20 minutes. 8. Definitional challenges are only legal within the basis of:
Truism: Undebatable by nature. THBT Islam is a terrorist religion. Islam defined as “Islamic Interpretations of Jamaah Islamiyah”. So it becomes “THBT Islamic interpretations of Jamaah Islamiyah is a terrorist religion”.
Tautology: Circular, and self proving. Extremely rare. THBT Alyssa Soebandono is beautiful. Alyssa Soebandono defined as “Beautiful Girl”. So it becomes “THBT a beautiful girl is beautiful”.
Squirreling: Deliberately defining the motion irrelevant to the spirit which is obviously implied within. THW ban Smoking in Public Places. And smoking is defined as using smoke to poison smoke to kill farm pests.
Unfair Time and Place Setting: Deliberately setting the Time and Place in which the debate takes place to an unfair setting. In which it would either lead to truism, or a highly unknown knowledge of related issues. THW Justify Civil

10. Match up for 1st preliminary will be made based on random order. 11. Team ranks will be made with the priorities as follows:
Victory Point: Each win +1, each loss +0
Team Score: The average score of the team, including dissenting adjudicators.
Margin : A number represents the difference of the winning team against the losing team. A positive number for the winner, negative for the loser.
12. In the preliminary rounds, sides (government or opposition) will be determined by rank. 13. In the elimination rounds, sides (government or opposition) will be determined by coin
toss.
14. In the preliminary rounds team will not have the same position (government or
opposition) three times in a row. If it happens, swapping opponents/sides may be done. 15. Adjudicators’ decision cannot be cancelled, but can be sought for responsibility. 16. Case building may not involve anyone other than the three team members.
17. During case building, team members may not communicate with anyone other than their teammates. The use of cell phones (SMS, Phone Call, 3G etc) is strictly prohibited. Urgent usage for personal matters would require approval of the Liaison Officer.
18. Teams may use printed materials during case building time (books, dictionaries, etc). The use of electronic dictionaries is allowed, but laptops are strictly prohibited.
19. Printed materials may not be brought to the speaker’s podium.
20. Speakers may bring stopwatches (or cell phones with stopwatch functions) to the podium. 21. Time signals given by audience, coaches, or anyone are allowed as long as it does not
disturb the debate.
22. Exchanging members is not tolerated during the rounds. If there is a member who is unable to participate in the rounds, the other team member(s) should replace the absent member. However, this team may not be eligible to break into the elimination rounds. 23. A team member/s coming late during case building time will not be a reason for case
building time extension
