documents to enter Vietnam. Given

the time and effort to acquire a visa to enter Vietnam, participants are urged to begin the visa application process immediately.

Visas are required for participants with passports from nearly all countries, including the United States, European Union, and African countries. Regis-trants from the following countries do not need to obtain a visa prior to enter-ing Vietnam: Denmark, Finland, Indo-nesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, and Thailand. Participants are urged to contact the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate closest to them for up-to-date travel guidelines. A list of Vietnam Embas-sies and Consulates can be found at

For participants, who do not have a Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in their country, may receive their visa on arrival at the Hanoi airport provided that they have the following documen-tation: Official passport; Proof of return flight; Official Summit confirmation form; 3 x 4 inch photo; and Proof of accommodations in Vietnam.

Informally, called the “Davos for Women” by past participants, the Summit has developed a reputation as an exciting, fact-filled, hands-on gathering of high caliber partici-pants. Now in its 18th year, the Global Summit of Women celebrates women’s leadership worldwide by bringing to-gether women business, professional, and governmental leaders from around the world for three days of stimulating sessions led by opinion leaders and influencers who happen to be women.

The 2008 Global Summit of Women explores two of the major forces that will impact the 21st century global mar-ketplace – Women and the Asia-Pacific economies.
