B. Discussion

where difference opinion is not an obstacle, precisely it makes their group member appreciated each other, the second student answered that with the discussion she can learn to speak up in front of others and make her realize the shortcomings that she had when speaking in front of many people and she also said that it was exactly a lesson for her to improve her speaking skill, and the third student answered that doing discussion makes people show their speaking ability and they can see the potential in themselves. He also said that discussion can establish the communication, having social interactions with others, and also can train and develop their thoughts and ideas by using spoken language.

should be dynamic, energetic, and interactive in order for learning to be enjoyable and long-lasting.

However, what a person thinks or perceives may differ greatly from reality. According to the perceptions of all students obtained through an online mode interview, the Small-Group Discussion is a type of discussion that assists students in improving their speaking skills through the expression of their ideas, sharing with other group members, and training students to solve problems. Some students believed that the Small-Group Discussion was an effective strategy for increasing students' interest in English study. Joining the Small-Group Discussion can help students gain confidence in speaking English. But it can also help students comprehend the reading, such as understanding vocabulary, identifying detail information, identifying the main factual information, identifying the main idea, identifying the meaning of specific words, and identifying the implicit information.

The students asserted that they were taught to communicate well in English during the Small-Group Discussion, and the lecturer encouraged them to continue developing their speaking abilities. Some pupils stated that they appreciated the experience because they were not uncomfortable and felt more calm and driven. They progressed while speaking English through the Small- Group Discussion, such as feeling confident in speaking, being motivated to speak because there are so many arguments that need to be resolved in order to solve the one problem that the student encountered, and appreciating one

47

another because of their divergent viewpoints. In other words, the students claimed that they were always inspired to speak English after joining the Small-Group Discussion, they felt more confident speaking English, and the Small-Group Discussion may help them improve their skill. Students stated that Small-Group Discussions may help them enhance their speaking abilities and English skills, since this method could assist their ability to communicate more fluently in English.

Additionally, there are research findings offered by the second researcher that corroborate this interview result. According to Brown's (2001) research findings, a Small-Group Discussion is a group of six or fewer students assigned a collaborative job. Discussion is one of the most prevalent forms of communication. The beneficial quality of conversation is the sharing of knowledge between participants. It is beneficial for pupils to be able to express themselves freely and without fear of humiliation. Students must collaborate to design a strategy, solve an issue, or finish a task in these activities. The students believed that Small-Group Discussion is an excellent strategy because it encourages and motivates students to speak up in front of a large group. Additionally, Ness (2010) claimed that Small-Group Discussion involves three or more individuals interacting face to face, with or without an assigned leader, in such a way that each individual impacts and is impacted by another member of the group. According to the results of the interview, the researcher concluded that the majority of students agree that Small-Group

Discussion helps them improve their speaking ability and increases their interest in learning English, and the students prefer to learn English in Small- Group Discussion rather than Large-Group Discussion because they could enjoy the material and felt comfortable. The Small-Group Discussion was an excellent strategy for improving kids' speaking abilities and instilling confidence in students when they communicate their opinions.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION A. Conclusion

According to the findings of the research, the researcher determined that the majority of students shared the same viewpoints or expressed an interest in the debate style employed in the bilingual class system in the department of social politics. That is, pupils have a favorable opinion of the discussion style used in the bilingual classroom system. The students demonstrated collaboration amongst groups in the classroom by utilizing the discussion approach during the learning process in the online classroom.

Often, the discussion technique empowers and excites students to practice speaking English with their friends and to share fresh knowledge and ideas.

Students get new language and self-confidence as a result of the classroom discussion method.

Discussion approach about something linked to speaking ability, critical thinking, problem solving, and how to earn students' respect by demonstrating an argument and idea in front of the public about the subject under discussion. The students' perspective is critical for identifying and comprehending the discussion approach. It had an effect on students' comprehension of their speaking abilities and their ability to problem solve after they employed the discussion method.

B. Suggestion

Based on the result of the data analysis and conclusion, the researcher suggested as follows:

The students’ needs to understand and explore the discussion method in order to improve the critical think and the speaking skills of the students.

Teacher should employ give more the understanding about the discussion method used in bilingual class system to know more about the function and useful understanding about discussion method in their classroom. It is suggested to students understand the function of discussion method.

Students’ should improve their critical think to solve the problem and practice speaking more and often exchange ideas with colleagues, a lecturer or someone else and then be more involved in the classroom as well as in the discussion forum. So, you can exchange your experience, ideas and information with your classmates in bilingual class system. Eventually, it can make students to be comfortable with learning English and motivate them to study in order to enhance their speaking skill. Eventually, they can deal with the demand of that era.
