Dear ;;fark:

Just received the good news from Hugh Morgan that you are most enthused over our Kiwanis Hero Recognition

program! Hugh and

I

think this thing will be the biggest project in history for Kiwanis,

MGM

and United Artists plan to put all their muscle behind this with major

newspaper, magazine, radio and television coverage. Also, United Artists has over 5000 theatres across the nation with public relations and advertising staff in every area

to back them up. All this will be working for and with us.

Needless to say,

I

think we will make a big splash!

If

we are to capitalize on

this

opportunity, however, we must act quickly. Field personnel for MGM, United Artists

and Kiwanis must be informed and prepared for their functions within the next thirty days. Therefore, where do we go from here with scheduling this opportunity to become a reality for Kiwanis?

Dear Mark:

Enjoyed meeting you on the telephone today.

Regarding my proposal for Kiwanis to co-sponsor a national hero and heroin recognition program with

MGM

Studios, enclosed is

a

letter• from

MGM

outlining the proposal as we have conceived thus far. The major premise of this idea is that we need to show more

appreciation for heroic.deeds in this country and thereby provide better role models and leaders for the citizens of our society.

After speaking with you regarding how the movie is rated, I spoke to MGM and· they advised

me

that the movie has no sex and that i t does have some fight scenes but it is

rated PG or parental guidance. The fight scenes are minor having to do with hero rescue efforts for the most part •.

In order to proceed further, MGM requires a letter of com:mittment from Kiwanis with any guidelines we may want . them to adhere to in promoting the program. Please send the letter directly to me at the above address and I will forward it to them.

I sincerely thank yoµ for your support.

See you soon in Atlanta!
